Dr. Rima L Strassman, MD

I have always been committed to working in partnership with parents to help them raise happy and healthy children. I am a pediatrician at St. Luke’s Quakertown Pediatrics, where I see children under 18. I am also the Medical Director of Lactation Services at St. Luke’s University Health Network. I see breastfeeding mothers and their babies at St. Luke’s Baby & Me Support Center in Center Valley.
In October 2023, I became board-certified in breastfeeding and lactation medicine by the North American Board of Breastfeeding and Lactation Medicine. At the time, I was the only physician in the region, and one of only about 160 physicians in the United States and Canada, to achieve that certification. As a specialist in breastfeeding and lactation, I diagnose why parents and their newborns have difficulty transferring milk and help them find a solution.
Since residency, I have been interested in breastfeeding. I started helping mothers and babies many years ago. I am a …member and fellow of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine. My goal with breastfeeding is to help mothers reach their goals, whatever they may be.
Furthermore, I have undertaken additional training in psychiatry for primary care providers through the Reach Institute. This training equips me to better assist children and adolescents struggling in our increasingly stressful world, ensuring I can provide holistic care.
I am on the Board of Directors for the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine and have been a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics for over 25 years.
When not working, I like to read, walk, and spend time with my family.
