Dr. Ripal Ashvin Parikh, DO

My life changed drastically 4 years ago after an episode of shingles left me with the complication of post-herpetic neuralgia. I was referred to Dr. Parikh after suffering severe pain for over one month. He was very thorough in listening to my history, performing an exam, and beginning a treatment regimen. Over the years, he has worked to fine tune my treatment to reach a point where I am as comfortable as possible, while allowing me to live my life and go about my daily activities as fully as possible. He is always willing to attempt new treatments and most of all, seems genuinely concerned with my emotional health, as chronic pain takes a toll on one's whole being. He has helped me to deal with what has been the most difficult period of my life.

I have read the above and I was taken aback. I have been seeing Dr Parikh for almost 4 years at Knox County Hospital Pain Clinic. There were times when I had gone there in tears and my pain, both physical and emotional were addressed very well! ( I can say that (I am a nurse myself). Dr Parikh had been very precise in both the epidural injections and the RFA's he's done on me! Thank you very much!!

I wasn't able to work for 5 years because of my Fibromyalgia and herniated discs. I started going to Dr. Parikh's office and immediately started feeling better. He is the most amazing doctor I have ever gone to. He knows exactly where to inject, when to do an ablation, which exercises to do and gives me the perfect dosage of medicine so that I can live a normal life. I have been going to him for 3 years now! I call him my Little Ghandi because to me he is A Miracle Doctor.

I've never written a review for a Doctor before, but after reading the last reviewers scathing (if poorly spelled) review, I felt Dr. Parikh deserved a counterpoint. I was also referred to his office by Dr. Cayce for a herniated disk. I was clear with Dr. Parikh that despite the pain I was not interested in opioid pain medicine. He was very helpful and recommended that I have a steroid injection to my spine. The injection worked well. People who suffer chronic pain understand that the point of a pain clinic isn't to get the patient completely out of pain, but to reduce the pain enough to lead as close to a normal life as is possible given an individuals condition. Perhaps some people come to these Doctors with unreasonable expectations? It's worth mentioning that the entire process from initial referral to successful procedure was less than a month. From what I've read, this is incredibly efficient. The office staff was friendly and professional. All told, I have had a very… positive experience and would recommend this clinic to anyone who is interested in actual help with their problems instead of a "pill mill".
