Dr. Rita Hargrave, MD

Our loved one uses the VA's medical facility in Martinez, Ca. Her treatment of him forced him to seek another Psychiatrist at the above clinic. Our advice, avoid her if your sensitive.

I was so shocked with my experience with Hargrave, I filed a formal complaint which many of you should do! Very condescending, rude. Not someone that should be tackling areas of mental health, let along any position in healthcare in general. I then searched her name on Google out of curiosity, and was not surprised to see many reviewers share my experiences. I encourage others to look at those and share their experiences with this physician. She should not be looking out for Veterans with mental health issues.

This provider has the worst bedside manner that I have ever encountered. Considering her specialty, it is very important to establish a therapeutic relationship but she made no effort to do this. She barked questions at me from her electronic medical record and seemed to make a concerted effort to not look at me while speaking. In a 45 minute appt she did not smile at me once. I feel sorry that I have to write this review. Perhaps Dr Hargrave will read it some day and use it as constructive criticism.

Probably one of the worst doctors anybody could possibly ever have. I had her for about over a year finally decided to switch. Best decision I've made. Don't recommend her to anyone.
