Dr. Rita Adcock Lechleitner, MD

Dr. Lechleitner is not only an wonderful surgeon, but a very nice and respectful person. She did my surgery and everything went perfect.

I have never, ever been treated by a medical professional in this manner. I went to Dr. Lechleitner for a pilonidal cyst, an EXTREMELY painful condition that I've been suffering from for years and that I was diagnosed with by multiple doctors, including the doctor who referred me to a surgeon for a lancing and draining a few days before. After a week of suffering through sleepless nights and painful days, I went at the direction of my previous doctor. That was a mistake. Lechleitner asked me what my medication Prozac was for-- and I answered anxiety and depression, truthfully. I understand that when she examined me, she did not find the characteristic pimple of a pilonidal cyst. Instead of considering that perhaps it was something else, or that the infection was inside, she said to both me and my partner that I 'needed to go back to whoever gave me the Prozac' because she thought my pain was anxiety. I have never, ever, ever had a doctor not believe my pain level before. She refused… to prescribe me anything stronger then OTC painkillers, which I've been taking to no avail. She said I couldn't have anything stronger because it was 'addictive.' Naturally, I became distressed and almost hysterical that a medical professional would say those types of things when I've had pain so bad that I couldn't sleep. She then informed me in a condescending tone that the only thing that could help me was a sedative. I left immediately. Doctors are employees, and patients are clients. You do NOT treat a client this way. I went to another doctor the same day who felt sympathy, compassion, and was decent enough to believe me and prescribe me both a second antibiotic and a strong painkiller. She was able to see whatever Dr. Lechleitner wasn't able to see, so I suggest going somewhere else.

Doctor Lechleitner is competent, experienced, caring and down to earth. I definitely recommend her.

I had a tumor on my shoulderblade, and my doctor referred me to Rita. We had one meeting to examine it, and the next one to remove it. She put me at ease and chatted with me while removing it painlessly.She took great pleasure in removing it seamlessly. It healed perfectly and the scar is barely there. She was great.
