Dr. Rita Ann Mankus, MD

Dr. Mankus and her PA Jill Reisman are two of the best kidney providers in Northwest Indiana. They spend many hours reviewing charts, balancing medicines and working with and for the patient. Dr, Mankus treated my father who had serious kidney problems. I also had problems with a Creatine level of 1.7 which is Stage 4 kidney disease. Working with Dr. Mankus and Jill Reisman have my creatine now around 1.2. They are the best.

Seemed to show little interest in individualizing care. Almost seemed like she was afraid I would not be compliant. I have had failure for 30 years...if I was not compliant I would not be here.

I've incurred 8 years on the IU Medical transplant list. For 4 years I've been prescribed 2 benzodiazapines. I was recently informed that being being on benzodiazapines makes you ineligible for a transplant. I actually have a donor, fully approved, waiting but I can't get the transplant because Mankus ordered a psychological evaluation because because I kept requesting a refill to my benzodiazapines. The reason I was asking was the fact she stopped me after after the new laws making her possibly pay a fine for doing so. However, she never said this; she told me the first 4 times she didn't have the proper perception pad to write it on. This was over the course of 3 months.. I was diagnosed with renal failure when I was 18. I am currently 33, have never had diabetes and was optimal for transplant. Now my donor has has to back out due to the 6 month delay caused by the psychological evaluation. All of this topped off by her complete indifference to hearing my complaints. There… is so much more please avoid hero at all costs.
