Dr. Rita Denise Woods, MD

I would not call this woman a doctor at all. All I heard while waiting for her was gossip. Her receptionist was her roommate.I am now a diabetic because of her. If she would have done testing correctly I could have been borderline & prevented being a diabetic. She didn't see my symptoms. She also has no bedside manner. Save yourself, avoid her.

Dr Woods is a great doctor and she cares about her patients. She helped me to get myself together both mentally. Unfortunately I've moved out of state and I will miss she and her staff emencely.

For my experience, I think Dr. Woods and her staff are great. I have read other reviews and I just think that people just don't see the other side of things. I know sometimes doctors can run late from previous appts and because patients don't feel good, they get mad. I see that Dr. Woods takes her time to hear your issues, thus the reason why she cares. I can also appreciate her staff too. When I had a concern, the staff listened and they fixed it right away. To me, they all are great.

At first, I liked Rita Woods as a doctor because she gave me a lot of holistic advice for various problems. However, the quality of my experience declined after a certain point. First, the assistant who ran the front desk gets a poor rating. Twice in a row, I stood at the window for 3-4 minutes before he finally said to me, "Oh, I got you checked in." I felt like thanking him for letting me stand there like a fool unnecessarily. In general, his demeanor made me feel like he, or they, didn't really want me there. Secondly, I waited in a cold room for 45 minutes to see the doctor during one visit. Thirdly, when I went for an annual checkup a year ago, Dr. Woods said that including a test for a particular problem wouldn't be accepted by my insurance company as part of a "checkup." Well, I've changed doctors, and this year, he did send me for xrays for that problem, and the diagnosis was not good. This is a problem that should have been addressed sooner, but Dr. Woods failed me. … And finally, I had an allergic reaction to something and the doctor said she would call in my prescription that day by 5:00, but she never did. Luckily, a family member is a pharmacy tech and she made numerous calls to the doctor's office that afternoon and evening to get the prescriptions sent to the pharmacy while I was at work. All of these things combined have contributed to my low rating.

I adore Dr. Woods. She keeps it real and she has a true interest in her patients. She really helped me cope through some challenging events in my life, which affected me physically and mentally. However her staff especially the receptionist has attitude. He can be sweet as pie but also can be rude as heck. Some of her nurses are rude and incompetent. I've noticed since I've been with her 6yrs turn over in tech asst. Also the medical filing system is archaic. Medical records should be electronic and secured. What if a fire occurred do they have a back up system? My last experience with her staff over the phone regarding my blood pressure meds and getting a refill, through me over the edge. The tech is incompetent and arguing with me and left me a nasty message on my cell. When I called back the receptionist was rude. Because of this I am highly considering finding another intern. Love you Dr. Woods but your staff can ruin the patient experience and I'm at that point.

Everything about my visits have been exceptional. Dr. Woods bedside manner is sincere, honest and very caring. Great follow up. staff is very professional, friendly and efficient.

I have been a patient for 15 years and if the Lord allows me I would continue for another 20 years Dr. Woods always takes time to listen and she has praised me as well as tell me when she knew I was capable of doing better I have never felt unsure of her in anyway.

This doctor has a major problem with not only making people wait but she was very condescending to me and I am a grwon man in my 50's. She treats patients like children and is very rude, as is her stuff. Staff is also VERY incompetent sending me for the wrong tests so had to keep going back. Ridiculous...Left her office after waiting for almost 2 hours and never returned... and now I like my new doctor much better!

The doctor does not know the meaning of punctual. I expect some delay but to have me wait 45 min to an hour in the waiting room only to wait another 30 - 45 min in the exam room is ridiculous. She does listen to your questions and generally makes good diagnosis. Staff could be more professional.

Dr. Woods was my doctor for years until I lost my job and insurance. She is an excellent doctor and I would love to go to her again as soon as I get private insurance again. I love her.
