Dr. Ritu Salani, MD

I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience with Dr. Salani was upsetting and this impact needs to be voiced. We sought second opinion hoping for compassion, collaboration, and guidance during an incredibly difficult time. Instead, the interaction felt cold, dismissive, and lacking empathy. Despite being the UCLA Chief director of gynecological oncology, there was very little whole person care or emotional sensitivity shown. Rather than discussing options or thoroughly reviewing my mother's case, the conversation quickly focused on hospice and the statement that there is "no cure." While honesty is important in medicine, delivery and compassion matter just as much. My mother's hope was torn apart after that visit, and we left feeling unheard and emotionally devastated. Patients deserve no only medical expertise, but also empathy, humanity, and supportive care. If you value compassionate, team-based care and an oncologist who approaches patients with understanding and… humanity, I would STRONGLY encourage seeking another provider.

She was extremely arrogant and gave me terrible medical advice.

Dr. Salani was fantastic, she spent a lot of time with me going over all my concerns, answered all my questions (4pages of questions), was very reassuring, and I knew I was with the right doctor for me. she was fantastic. so glad I found her and I've already recommended her to my friends.

Very patient and empathetic to her clients. Lets you choose your best option. And very caring. She tries to find all options for your care with the least amount of risk

I would recommend Dr. Salani to any woman dealing with a cancer diagnosis. She is an excellent doctor, with a calm and reassuring manner. She fully explained my diagnosis, the needed surgery and expected outcome in terms I understood. Her staff further explained surgical prep and recovery in a personable and helpful manner. I felt better able to cope. She and her staff followed up with me while I was in the hospital, and after I went home. And, on my post-surgical visit, Dr. Salani hugged me. That may seem insignifant, but personal concern and contact is so important to someone dealing with cancer. I also note that Dr. Salani uses the advanced DaVinci surgical procedure, which lessens recovery time.

Doctor Salani is absolutely fabulous. She is caring, understanding, thorough, and spends plenty of time with her patients. I am amazed at her level of professionalism that she mixes so well with her caring, understanding attitude. She truly cares for her patients!!!
