Dr. Ritu Varma, MD

Having moved several times over the years I have worked with multiple spine care specialists from CA, WA, MD, VA, etc... and Dr. Varma AND her staff are by far the best practice I have ever been a patient of. They are responsive - you are never going to get voicemail. They care and value your input and Dr. Varma always explains options and helps identify the best approach for you. My only wish is that her office was closer but other than that very minor detail you will not find a better spine care practice in the NOVA DMV area.

After a few years dealing with Dr. Varma, I feel qualified to rate Dr. Varma as one of the best and most caring doctors I have encountered. She seems to understand what it is like to suffer from pain, be a slave to medications, and spend countless hours in and traveling to doctors' offices. If my future brings me before more doctors (as I am quite certain it will), I hope Dr. Varma will be one of them.

Dr. Varma will always be upfront and honest to you about everything that you need to know. She is extremely kind, and is able to put you at ease immediately. During procedures she is very attentive to your need as a patient, and always goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable. This is the best doctor that i have ever seen.

Dr. Varma is a wonderful doctor who always puts your needs and comfort first. She treats you as a person, and even as a friend, from the first time she meets you. If you can be anxious about procedures and treatments, as I am, she quite easily calms you down and goes above and beyond to make you comfortable. Everything is done quite quickly, without any compromises in quality. If you are looking for the right doctor for you, this is the one.

Dr Varma is amazing! She truly cares about her patients and there well being. There aren't many doctors with the compassion that she has these days. She takes her time and doesn't rush me out of the office, I matter to her, I'm not just a number or a copay! I wish more doctors were like her. If it weren't for Dr. Varma, I would have stopped going to the doctors office she works at years ago, it's a couple hour drive from my house each month, but she is worth it.

This was my first visit to a pain specialist, and I can't believe how much I learned. Dr. Varma walked me through the details and all of the options, and I feel so relieved to know more about why I'm having pain and that we now have a plan to get rid of it. I'd highly recommend Dr. Varma.
