Dr. Robert Afra, MD

I have had several great visits with Dr. Afra and his visiting chiropractor Dr. Kart. The front office staff and one of the xray techs are rude and unprofessional. It really affects me to the point that I’m thinking of going to a different orthopedic office when necessary.

Dr. Afra was most helpful in the treatment of my fractured wrist, that I sustained in a skiing accident. I found him to be patient and took time to understand my situation and explained thoroughly my options. He is very personable and he took the time to follow up to see I was recovering smoothly

It could have been a much scarier moment for all of us when we found out that my daughter had broken her femoral growth plate(her leg) if it were not for Dr. Afra's calming and wise demeanor. He stayed connected with my daughter as he gave us the information on various treatment options. His honesty and expertise was verified throughout the 45 day process. My daughter healed completely, went on to PT and is now back in gymnastics. We hope she always falls correctly!! But if not we know where to go.

I saw Dr. Afra for a thumb and knee injury from a ski accident. I found his office staff to be fabulous and super easy to do business with. Rob was accessible and very helpful. His recommendations and support have been very helpful to my healing process. I highly recommend him.

I saw Dr Afra after a previous surgeon recommended knee arthroscopy. I was extremely pleased with Dr Afra's bedside manner, knowledge, and approach to patient care. He provided me options and actually LISTENED to what I had to say!!!!! Made my knee pain go away with conservative are, despite the other doc telling me I needed surgery.

I found Dr Afra to be extremely professional. He helped me understand my shoulder problem in simple layman terms. No fancy song and dance, just great care. He gave me options and involved me in the decision making process. We opted for surgery...solved my shoulder pain. I wish access to see him was more readily available.

I was origanally seen in the UCSD trauma center. I was refered to Dr, Afra when I was released. I have acl and mcl ripped in my right knee and a 5th degree seperstion of my left shoulder. I found him to be very professional as well as everyone on his staff. I only waited about 10 days from my release to get an appointment. My usual wait time at his office is about 5 minutes. I feel he knows what he is doing and I never have a problem if I need to see him on short notice. I don't really feel he spends enough time with his patients but he is pretty much no different than any other doctor. IN todays world the doctors are hard pressed to spend a large amount time with one patient as their patient load is amazing.
