Excellent service and “bedside” manner. Very knowledgeable and thorough with explanations.

I went to several neurosurgeons with a lumbar deformity. Dr. Allen was, by far, the most knowledgable and straightforward. He was kind and explained the surgery I needed in very easy to understand terms. He personally called to check on me after I went home from the hospital.

Dr. Allen and Dan were fantastic. They answered all of my questions in a way I could understand. They spent extra time with me and my family. After many years of lumbar pain, I am finally pain free!!! Thank you!!

Dr. Robert Allen came highly recomended from Day one with all my problems involving a Ruptured Disc, I was operated on in 1988 At the Spine Center at Chapel Hill and then in 2008, I needed a Fusion in the same place at L4/L5, Dr. Allen met with me several times, before 2008 and was on top of my situation from Day one, when the operation date arrived, he was there for me before surgery and after surgery three times during my hospital stay, everything went very well, and I sent home about 3-4 days later, I healed up the best of any back surgery, that , I had had and even today, 4 years later, I continue to benefit from Dr. Allen's fine work, as far as I am concerned, he has a very high reputation and he has my highest praise for being One of the Top Back Surgeons in Wake County.....

My appointment was for 3:30. I got there at 3:10. I am a new patient. Right off the bat, the nurse LOST my chart and I waited until 3:55 to even get into a room to wait, because she had to make up another chart. I then waited in room 5 until 4:30, when a PA came and talked to me for 10 minutes to discuss what I was feeling (this is not the doctor). After 20 more minutes, the doctor comes in after looking at my scans and reports in a different room (meanwhile, I'm still sitting in this room alone), spends no longer than five minutes with me. He completely ignores what is written on the MRI report, proceeds to tell me that there is nothing wrong with me, and that the pain I've been in for years "Just live with it" - verbatim. He then stares at me with his beedy eyes and expects me to be OK with that. This guy is BAD... When you leave, they give you a receipt of the doctors report, which was completely inaccurate in accordance to what I told the PA. He circled "low back pain" and "neck… pain". I do not have neck pain. He completely ignored the numbness/tingling, degenerative disc disease (THAT I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH BY THE MRI!!), and everything else. This guy has no idea what he is doing, his office staff apparently doesn't either, and a visit to his office is a waste of time.

Dr Allen and Dr Dan took such great care of me from the beginning and the whole way thru this ordeal. I had neck surgery that was diagnosed by another and I spent money at therapy that didn't do any good at all. I am now recuperating from my surgery with Dr Allen in Jan. and what a relief I am having..These Drs. are the best as far as I'm concerned. The bedside manner of both Dr Allen and Dr Dan and Dr Buttram and the concern they showed for me and my precedure was very caring in my opinion. I have seen people my age get pushed aside and little concern showed for them. But, not these Drs. I would rec-omend this office to anyone and I would trust their opinion above all else. These Drs. are great. I will never forget how well they took care of me. Dr. Allen and associates are the best.

Dr. Allen is a truly amazing doctor that genuinely cares about his patients. After several prior opinions he was the one who appropriately diagnosed and treated my condition. It's been 3 years since my back surgery and I feel like a completely new person. Life is good! Thank you Dr. Allen and the friendly staff and Raleigh Neurosurgical! You are wonderful!

Best Neurological Surgeon in Raleigh. I had my neck surgery in 1999. And still don't have any pain or problems with it. Thanks and God bless
