Dr. Robert Grant Allison, MD

Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I started with Kaiser Permanente after working in private practice in Mission Hills for the nine years before I joined. I feel very fortunate to have come to work at Kaiser Permanente, because here I am so well supported and encouraged in providing the highest quality care for members and their families.

Biography
I was born in Michigan, but grew up in the San Francisco Bay area. I swam and played water polo growing up and continued competing in college at UCLA. I always wanted to be a teacher as a youngster growing up. While at UCLA, I was fortunate to meet an educator who taught me that the best doctors are teachers. I have tried to live up to that ideal in my career as a physician.

About my practice
I wear two "hats" in my practice: I spend most of my time in general pediatrics and then for the rest of the time, I am one of the pediatric lung specialists. As a …lung specialist, I care for young people with asthma, cystic fibrosis, and other chronic lung conditions. Our consultation clinic evaluates children referred by their primary physicians for presenting with difficult symptoms, such as chronic cough, or for management of challenging problems, such as severe asthma.

How I thrive
I stay active by golfing, bicycling, and (my newest sport) short track speed skating!
