Dr. Robert William Kirkland Bachus, MD

Unfortunately, this doctor is not trauma-informed. I felt mostly unheard, unseen, and dismissed. As someone who is already skeptical of people in authority figure roles, the experience I had with this doctor worsened my fear of rejection. It just seems like he’s practiced a certain way for 2 decades and is not willing to become more attuned to his patients’ experiences. I would not recommend him to anyone, let alone someone with a history of trauma.

I saw Dr. Bachus this morning and walked out crying. He has zero bedside manner. He kept looking at me like I was insane. Aren’t psychiatrists supposed to make you feel better? I was in crisis, and all he could tell me is that he didn’t know what’s wrong with me because he couldn’t even follow what I was saying. I walked out. I feel hopeless now.

i have never seen a therapist that makes you feel much much worse after your visit, always has a wait, and then actually cut my time short so that he is not late for his OWN psychiatrist visit- I was amazed! Fooled me the first couple of times, then showed his true colors- know it all and uncaring- please do yourself a favor and stay away!

We have had 2 other difficult experiences with psychiatrist, but Dr. Bachus is a blessing and breath of fresh air! He's been so helpful in identifying my son's root issue!
