Dr. Robert C Barnes, DO

Most doctors these days are over booked and cannot spend much time with their patients. Dr. Barnes truly cares about people and their well being. Not only is he an amazing doctor, he is also an amazing person. I was involved in an auto accident and I don't know how I would have gotten through the past 11 months without his medical care and advise. My husband and I truly thank you, Dr. Barnes.

The first time I met Dr. Barnes was when I was in St. Joseph 's Hospital. I was there because I had Mastitis and with the stress of getting over my allergic reaction to the antibiotic I had my first stroke. Dr. Barnes was filling in for Dr. Baker, I had just started to talk so people could understand me kinda. Dr. Barnes was very patient with me and very understanding. When my husband came to visit I said " If something ever happens to Dr.Baker I have found our next Dr. It took just those few minutes for me to feel comfortable with him And trust him to get me back to almost normal. Both my husband and I had a appointment with Dr. Barnes, my husband had a follow up and I was there for my upper arms had gotten very heavy all of a sudden. Dr. Barnes had me get a X-Ray. (It was a Friday and the office closed at 12:00) It was now 2:00. While we were waiting for the X-Ray Dr. Barnes saw us in the waiting room. He had the results, I had a lymph node on my lung. He sat with us… till 4:00. So understanding and caring.

Very caring and knowledgeable about the conditions of my health. Always willing to take the time needed and I never feel like I’m being ignored about my complaints. I feel he is the best doctor I could have ever chosen.

Dedication, medical knowledge. patience, clear explanations and people skills define his approach to health. He practices with ease and directness and is easy to talk to and provides answers to the easy and the hard questions. Someone once stated that a good Primary Care Physician is like a Pro Quarterback. He oversees all the plays and gives me confidence and direction in my responsibility for my health.

I don't think you can find a doctor that gives you more time or more committed to your well being

Dr Barnes has been with me in every step from me being a healthy man to a Disabled man. Without him I don't think I would be here. I love this guy and the care he gives me. Thank's Doc..

I have met Dr Barnes through my Mom who is a patient of his. Over the past few years I have seen him work with us on Mom's care. He works with her other Doctors to make sure she is taken care of, and is very caring and involved. He is wonderful and my husband and I are now patients of his also.

There are too many physician assistants in this office. To get in on short term notice you are always offered an appointment with a PA. Dr. Barnes himself is has been great however I don't think a PA is qualified to make decisions about my care. I saw Dr. Barnes before he joined Clarkston Medical Group and if I could not get an appt with him I would see another Doctor in his group, not a PA. I just made an appointment with a Doctor that has no PA's in his office. Clarkston Medical Group is obviously profiting from using less qualified lower paid PA's to increase profits. No thanks. On top of that the medical assistant I saw barely had the skills to take my blood pressure. I felt terrible and she couldn't have been more rude. She complained that she could not afford the $600 per month copay for medical insurance offered by Clarkston Medical Group and asked that I not "breath on her." She was not pleasant or joking when she said it. To all of the partners at Clarkston… Medical Group: Enjoy your profits and I will enjoy seeing a real Doc from now on. Needless to say I have not been satisfied with the care or competence of the PA's I have seen at Clarkston Medical Group. By the way, I am a Registered Nurse.

Best primary care physician my family has ever had. Patient, thoughtful, and takes time to explain things, which is hard to find these days.
