Dr. Robert S Bartolomeo, MD

I am a 69 year old patient of Dr. “Bart” I have gone through numerous colonoscopies and endoscopies by him and his staff of professionals. The facilities are spotless, the information he provides encompasses every step of any procedure or follow up testing. He answers any question fully, responds to inquiries and provides diet advice to help your condition. My first endoscopy from him probably saved me from esophageal cancer as i had no idea I had Barrett’s; a condition that Leads to cancer. Additionally; I recommended my friend and his family to his practice and they were completely satisfied with their treatment. As of this writing I have many Doctors, most very good. My mother was a patient of Dr. Bartolomeo for over 30 years. He kept her on medication for colitis even though my mother had not had a G.I. attack in 25 years. When my mother became very forgetful and started to fall I asked Dr. B to refer my mother to a neurologist because I was certain she had Alzheimers. He blew me off and my mother died from complications due to Alzheimers disease. He also misdiagnosed my father saying he had kidney problems and he was dying. I took my father to a nephrologist and the Dr, said there was nothing wrong with my dad's kidneys. My father eventually died from Esophageal cancer which Dr. Bartolomeo vaguely mentioned in passing to my brother. I should have sued him for malpractice. I will live with this guilt for the rest of my life

Highly recommended by my trusted internist. As a health care professional I know how important choosing a skilled and caring physician can be! The is one of the most professional and compassionate offices I have ever been in! Well done to Dr Bartolommeo and the entire staff??

I have been to other G.I. specialists. I appreciate this Drs intellect. I can literally see him thinking through my problem and thats very reassuring. Oh, and he tolerates my wacky sense of humor.

Dr B is a rare gem. He has an excellent bedside manner and treats his patients as if they are his own family members. He takes an interest in making sure you stay well when fighting a chronic condition. You never wait more than 5 minutes after your appointment time and never once have I felt rushed when in the exam room. I highly recommend him to any friends and family members.

This doctor is fine doing just routine colonoscopies/endoscopies, but if he is "stretched" for a diagnosis he falls off a cliff. In addition, he becomes very irate and impatient if he is asked any questions. He was unable to give me a diagnosis, and refused to refer me on for additional tests and/or specialists. I finally found an answer with another GI. My experience with him was just terrible. Go somewhere else.
