Dr. Robert Arthur Bayer, MD

Dr. Bayer is a very compassionate and understanding doctor. I am truly lucky to have him as my oncologist.

I highly recommend Dr. Bayer. He truly cares about patient goals and their overall life, not just some results on a lab printout. He is extremely knowledgeable, active in research, is more than happy to explain anything, will tell you the truth, and gives you the feeling that you have interacted with a real person. He might run a little late since he spends so much time with each patient, but he is definitely worth the wait!

Dr. Bayer does often run late, but this is because he will take new patients quickly (e.g., 2 days rather than 6 weeks for other doctors) and he spends quality time with each patient. He is warm and caring while also being up-to-date on the medical literature. He puts patient goals and quality of life as a priority, rather than getting stuck on some specific lab result target. He respected my intelligence and presented options, information, and opinions rather than making pronouncements from on high. He responded quickly through secure e-mail.

Dr. Bayer often runs late because he makes sure to spend time with each of his patients to answer any questions and review any symptoms. He always keeps up to date on the latest research. I have been his patient for over five years and I feel very confident that my initial treatment was the best choice, as I have been NED (no evidence of disease) for that long.

Dr. Bayer has a very friendly bedside manner. He relentlessly pursues all treatments options and presents them in a style that is easy to comprehend.
