Dr. Robert Joseph Bishop, MD

Totally unreliable for appointments and prescription refills.

saw him at dominion, put me on abilify when i was 14 with no other medications. refused to change the medication when it was making me agressive and apathetic. there was no time to see him, he showed little concern for my comfort and didn't put much effort into my treatment. kept meetings short and never really talked about my problems.

When I was diagnose with cancer. Dr. Bishop was very kind and caring and held my hand during the whole process. Very attentive to my needs and kept me healthy during my treatments. I would recommend him highly to anyone. When I changed jobs I made sure that my new insurance would allow me to continue treatment with him.

Saw him at Dominion, and easily the best doctor there.

listens very well. Accurate diagnosis. Works with you to get better.

He is cancelled appts. on my at least 10 times. Before going to him I was diagnosed with PTSD (I was molested by my father for 6 years), generalized anxiety (mainly around people who reminded me of my father), and depression. He immediately said I was bipolar and started me on many differrent meds. Through EMDR therapy I have worked through my PTSD and no longer show any signs even though I have weaned myself off of all by 2 meds. I am very disappointed in him.

I saw Dr. Bishop for almost 10 years. I put my trust in him to help me at a most vulnerable time in my life. I was diagnosed as bi-polar and thus began my entry into a calvacade of drugs in an attempt to find the "right combination". Lots of "let's try this" "let's change this" "let's add this" "let's stop this". I "lost" a lot of time that I have no memory of and I can't get back. After years of treatment, I wanted to start weaning myself off of some of the meds I was on - I was tired of the roller coaster. I called and left a message for Dr. Bishop asking for his help to do this but he never returned my phone call. I never heard from him or saw him again. Ten years! I ended up looking (and finding) a wonderful, caring, doctor I absolutely love and trust. I am now taking 2 meds. Instead of the 10 or so I was on! P.S. Dr. Bishop cancelled appts. with me but once when I was 5 minutes late due to traffic, he would not see me - I had to reschedule!

almost impossible to get an appointmenet, doctor cancels often, does not respond to pages in events of emergency i.e. need for hospitalization for suicide risk

Dr. Bishop is excellent in diagnosis, and prescribing appropriate treatment.I have great confindence in his ability to asess the patient, and provide treatment.

Always cancels appointments. No care for the patient. He should not be allowed to practice. Not held accountable.
