Dr. Robert Wayne Bloom, MD

I have worked with over ten psychiatrists over the course of 25 years. Some moved on. Some I left for greener pastures. Before I worked with Dr. Bloom, every psychiatrist had one thing in common: they all worked strictly off their medical school textbooks long after residency. Have bipolar? Here's some lithium. Have depression? Here's some Prozac. Dr. Bloom prescribes according to the basics too, but he also has some know-how that other psychiatrists have never developed. He combines medications to achieve better effects. He knows multi-uses for medications beyond the basic off-label tricks-of-the trade. I have never seen any other psychiatrist with this much knowledge and creativity. Equally as important, he is up on the current literature. Everything I've read over the past few years says patients should take their entire lithium dosage at night. Dr. Bloom is the only doctor who followed the current research and prescribed accordingly. I recommend him highly. He is out of network and… is not cheap, but his work is outstanding and is worth every penny.

Absolutely terrible experience. A complete lack of understanding of anxiety or insomnia, utter lack of knowledge about the side effects of medications, coupled with his inexplicable fixation on an imaginary PTSD and insistence on multiple unnecessary office visits.

Dr. Bloom is a very caring doctor. Most psychiatrists are medication oriented and want to get you in and out as quickly as they can write a prescription. Dr. Bloom is the opposite, taking the time to listen and discuss your concerns, problems, etc. I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Bloom is amazing. Very caring and a wonderful bed side manner. He really did a wonderful job with me. He was very accurate in his diagnosis and was able to help me right away.
