Dr. Robert S Burger, MD

Just a warning. I had shoulder surgery through workmans comp with Dr. Burger and I wish I would've read reviews before hand. He has terrible bedside manners not only with the patient but I couldn't believe how he treated his staff and his colleagues. He told me I might need shoulder replacement in the future and after surgery where he cleaned out bone fragments and floating cartilage he said I was bone on bone. So I asked then if I would need shoulder replacement and he said I had that option from the beginning which was a lie. So after going to therapy for 3 months he finally said I should have it. Luckily he doesn't do it and wouldn't have mattered because I would not have let him operate on me again. I live in Elk Grove so I ended up driving over an hour to Sonoma to see a Dr. Noah Weiss and what a great experience! I highly recommend him.

Saw him for over a year for belt and carpal tunnel he gave me a zero rating of disability the qme exam gave me a 40% and each and he is full of himself does not listen all he wants to do is tell you how good he is beware of him he would turn me back to full work still needing one hand with surgery not done on it terrible doctor

my knee was treated for a worker's compensation issue for over a year. In the end I still have pain everyday. Dr. Burger choose to put that I am 0% disabled, so I received no compensation from the insurance company at the end of treatment. Avoid Dr. Burger like the plague if you are seeing him for a worker's compensation related issue.

I met with Dr Burger to discuss a serious knee injury. He was very professional and took a long time with me to discuss my injury and what care was needed before surgery could occur. He was very attentive and his manner was not consistent with past reviews I have read. I am a longtime Kaiser patient and he did not disappoint.

I wish I had read the post about this man prior to my surgery. He told me my x-ray and MRI showed no damage to my shoulder, after months of agonizing pain he agreed to arthroscopic surgery, only to find I had a torn bicep. The first surgery was done but I continued having pain, another x-ray was done, only to find the screw he inserted was sticking out of the bone. After the second surgery I continued having pain, my attorney suggested a transfer of care. After finding a competent doctor I was back at work a few months later. I wouldn't have given him a star, but that option was not available

He made mention that my work injury was not due to fall at work because all state workers are not very bright. I had sutter do the bicep surgery. Thanks for looking out pompous ars. xKaiser member...

I wish I had written this review a few years ago, because I would like to think it would help someone NOT to choose this arrogant, MD!! he did surgery on my knee and had the tourniquet too tight and caused a secondary problem... my whole leg swelled up and was black & blue from my thigh to my toes!!! And he had the nerve to say ... "There is nothing wrong." His nurse at the time did not agree with him at all.... I call this group he is in (Kaiser) THE GOOD OL' BOYS CLUB They protect themselves at ANY cost to the patient!!! This surgery I had was over five years ago, and to this day... I still have problems with my knee. One other thing ... I was there at his office for a follow-up appointment and he told me "to wait" and I could hear him talking on the phone talking about sailing!! While I had to wait over 30 minutes for his casual call. Did I mention he was arrogant??? Why is his time more important to shoot the breeze, when my time was just as important to me... and I was on… time for the appointment!!! PLEASE RECONSIDER THIS PHYSICIAN.

I saw Dr. Burger three times and each time I waited over an hour past my scheduled time. He is rude and does not listen. He talked over me while I attempted to explain my symptoms. I eventually sought out another physician after he was so rude an unprofessional that I cried during an appointment. Zero stars all around.
