First, he's better looking than his photo. Dr. Carangelo from the first appointment took the right amount of time to explain x-rays, upcoming procedures, and expected results. All went well, and three months later I am happy with a knee that is behaving very much like its partner allowing me to carry on with daily life limp-free and pain-free.

Initial visit he took all the time needed and patiently explained every detail and answered every question— no rush out the door —day of surgery same thing — very reassuring as I was very nervous— post surgery went over progress and expectations going forward and his Force site is easy to use and very helpful and his staff responds quickly — A ++++

Dr. Carangelo is simply the best! He has done both my knees, and I went back to him for my hip. He's thorough in his explanations. Spends as much time as a patient needs to feel comfortable. Genuinely cares about the successful recovery of all of his patients. I have zero complaints about him or anyone in his office. Great staff as well.

I live in NY, but I decided to have the surgeries (both knees , 9 weeks apart) done in Hartford after meeting Dr. Carangelo. Besides he is an excellent doctor, he's very personal, really cares about his patients. I felt I was in excellent hands, together with his team without a doubt. Dr. Carangelo and his staff are excellent. My total knee replacements are a complete success. I followed their directions and had no problems. My surgeries were performed at the Orthopedic Surgical Center in Rocky Hill on an out-patient basis. I was very pleased with the facility and staff there as well. I highly recommend Dr. Carangelo to anyone needing knee replacements. To be clear however, your success is dependent on how well you do in physical therapy. It's hard, and you must do it. Dr. Carangelo performed a total knee replacement on me, and I can’t say enough about his compassion and his skill as a physician. Throughout the whole process, I never felt unprepared. Dr. Carangelo and his team provided me all the information I needed prior to surgery day. Surgery went smoothly, and Dr. Carangelo ensured that I would have home physical therapy and then outpatient PT. I had regular follow-up visits with him, and his team took x-rays, reviewed my progress and addressed any concerns I had. I cannot recommend Dr. Carangelo and his staff enough.

I had two total knee replacements eleven weeks apart. Both experiences were very good for me. After my second surgery I was walking pretty normally after two weeks. In addition to being a highly skilled orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Carangelo is friendly and compassionate. His staff are also skilled, friendly and helpful.
