Dr. Robert Clark Caridi, MD

I underwent gynecomastia corrective surgery with Dr. Caridi in March 2021. Initially, I was impressed by his team's professionalism and communication. However, the outcome of the surgery has been disappointing. After the procedure, I noticed significant unevenness on the left side of my chest. I was informed by a nurse that extra tissue was removed, but was told not to worry, as it likely wouldn’t impact the results. Over time, the left side remained noticeably dented, and after reaching out multiple times over the years, Dr. Caridi dismissed my concerns and downplayed the defect. Despite his office offering a second consultation, my concerns were mocked during a video call. Dr. Caridi belittled me for expressing dissatisfaction and refused to offer any solutions, making the experience even more frustrating. His unprofessional behavior and refusal to acknowledge or address the issue left me feeling disrespected. At this point, I am left with a botched result and no resolution, and I… would caution others considering surgery with Dr. Caridi.

I'm very satisfied with the results. It's only 3 months post OP and you can't even tell I've had surgery. The scars are virtually non existant. Im already at the pool chilling with my shirt off and proud. And I went from daily thinking F this crap and definitely wanting surgery to never thinking about it at all. The first few weeks you may feel uncertain cause of swelling, but im pleased at 3 months and there's still some minor swelling that will continue to reduce in size a bit more. Overall im very pleased.

Botched Gynacomastia op by Caridi this is a story of over-resection, an attempted cover up and then abandoned follow up i had surgery for mild gyno done by caridi 12 months ago with an awful result 1. the preop assessment was inadequate. he spent one minute with me, did not examine me and did not explain the surgery/consent. 2. the surgery was done poorly, rushed and incomplete with a bad result - very uneven and lopsided. he did excessive lipo on the right side [in fact he removed all the normal fat along the right edge of the pec] and much less on the left side. he removed part of my right pec muscle fascia resulting in permanent deformity - a large divot next to the pec and deltoid.. this has left me with a significant asymmetry postop. the right side is a lot smaller now. he misused the vaser and caused second degree burns. this has left me with significant skin scaring, discoloration and burning pain. i now have to take neurontin to sleep. this is permanant… irreversible damage. when i showed the second degree burns to the nurse post op - maria , i was advised this was normal 3. i found post op communication with lacey and caridi deceptive, evasive, misleading and dishonest. initially he said the result was incredible. after three months, he acknowledged the asymmetry but said that this was swelling and fluid, which should settle with six months massage. he has not provided any proper and truthful explanation for any of these complications. NO answers to specific questions as to WHY uneven and lopsided? he said that the problem was my expectation ?? i had mild gyno and postoperation i am now left with a small and deformed right chest he said that this has never happened before. he has stopped responding to emails asking further for advice and postop management for the ongoing worsening scar and tissue defect. he has effectively abandoned postop follow up 4. i have sought a second opinion from a local surgeon who has confirmed that i have a vaser burns contraction and dysthetic nerve damage from negligent use of the vaser. the scar tissue on the right is worsening as is the bad burning pain. he explained that these complications are due to over resection of normal tiissue, a result of poorly planned surgery. the liposuction was not done equally on both sides. the sternal and axilla edge, and the delto-pec groove has been aggressively resected on the right BUT not addressed on the left side. he was unable to explain why there is a big divot next to my right axilla and deltoiid muscle, and he told me that he could not understand why this area was subjected to liposuction on one side but not the other side! 5. in summary, i have had a disastrous result. in my case, caridi has done bad, lopsided surgery [my right chest is now flat and collapsed] and then tried a cover up by trying to tell me that the result is excellent. the manner in which he has conducted and abbrogated all follow up demonstrates a total lack of professional standards. i have submitted a complaint to the texas medical board about my experience [including corroborating evdence - sequence photos and emails, second opinion] 6. i also want to point out that the caridi website is very misleading: 1. the vaser causes more severe scar formation than conventional lipo. this fact was explained to me by other surgeons. furthermore, the vaser causes damage to the pec muscle and fascia when abused. the muscle is flattened and no longer moves naturrally 2. all the website photos are early post op. there is no reference to the severe scar formation that will evolve over the next six months - burns contraction and skin damage, sunken divots, tethering on animation, none of this is covered in the preop consent and discussion, and this outcome is very real. there are no photos showing this 3. in my experience, the preop assessment and post op follow up fell well short of an acceptable standard of care

I had a breast lift with implants done by Dr. Caridi 2 weeks ago. Word on the street was that he was ‘The Best’ and I’m here to tell you that he actually is THE BEST!! Online Consultation: I’m not going to lie, I really didn’t want to do the online consultation. My mom drilled into my head never to put nude pictures of yourself on the internet.. and here I was, sending topless photos of myself to a complete stranger. But a couple of hours later Dr. Caridi e-mailed me back his professional opinion AND his price. I quickly realized this process is brilliant. I would rather find out if a doctor is out of my price range this way instead of wasting half of my day going to meet with somebody to find out prices. He was very reasonably priced and I scheduled an in person consultation right away. Consultation: Most of my consultation was done with his nurse, Lacy. Dr. Caridi struck gold with Lacy. Every doctor needs a nurse like her. I have a lot of anxiety and was so nervous going in… to this and Lacy had a way of instantly calming my nerves. She explained the whole process to me and answered all of my questions. She took her time and listened to all of my concerns and I never felt rushed. Then Dr. Caridi came in to examine me. He came through that door with so much energy and personality! But more importantly, confidence. This was not my first consultation. I know that the lift and implant combination is not an easy surgery to perform and the other doctors were sure to let me know that my lift would not be easy. Dr. Caridi examined me and made me feel like my procedure would be a piece of cake. He has a lot of experience and knew he could give me great results. His confidence gave me confidence! He was without a doubt the surgeon for me. Pre-op: My pre-op appointment verified for me that I made the BEST choice with Dr. Caridi. Dr. Caridi and Lacy went over everything again with me and they both remembered all my questions, concerns, conversation and the littlest details from my consultation. Y’all, that is big. That right there showed me that they listened and truly cared about me. I was not just a number. They really love what they do and care about the people! I was having a really hard time choosing the final size of implants. I had so many pros and cons for the two different sizes I was trying to decide between. I decided to trust and go with their opinion on size. Surgery day!! The morning of my surgery is a bit blurry to be honest. But I do remember everyone being so upbeat and helpful and wonderful and I remember thinking that these people really do love what they do to be so... happy! .. at the butt crack of dawn! My surgery went great! Dr. Caridi ended up doing a lollipop lift on one breast and a full anchor lift on the other. My husband works in the medical field and there are not many surgery centers that he trusts. He inspected and watched everyone here like a hawk. He was BLOWN AWAY by the cleanliness and patient care here. Recovery and post op: first off let me say- MY BOOBS LOOK AMAZING. I’ve looked at thousands of before and after pictures and stories of recovery and had some idea of my expectations. The boobs Dr. Caridi gave me far exceeded my expectations. He is a true artist. I was pretty nervous about recovery. I’ve read/heard some horror stories and knew this would not be an easy surgery to recover from. It really wasn’t that bad at all!! Lacy called the night of my surgery to check on me and was available if We had any questions throughout recovery. I emailed with questions and she responded very quickly. I had my 2 week post op appointment yesterday and everything is healing well and looking very good! I really could not be happier with my results and this entire experience.

I sent this man a pick of my chest all he say was i had gyna this was virtual just some pics he really os trying to say that he knows just by looking for one hes not even a doctor just a plastic surgeon his site even calls every proven doctor wrong like hes better and knows that all fat chests are gyna no sypmtoms sounds like someone just wanting that money more dont go to him

He is very professional and skilled at what he does. He did a mommy makeover and I couldn't thank him enough. I wouldn't go anywhere else. He left a small scar and eventually faded slowly.

DR CARIDI AND HIS STAFF WERE RIGHT ON WITH GREAT BEDSIDE MANNERS AND PATIENT CARE. I HIGHLY RECOMMENT!

Lack of communication and No appointment on how your recovery is coming along with further advice, 4 to 6 months out. Because people heal differently. During this ordeal your body may be dealing with possible seroma or hematoma like me. And maybe unfortunately leftover breast tissue that will need a revision.

I had a consultation with Dr. Caridi in the autumn of 2015 and I am so grateful that I missed this bullet. At the start of the consulation he launched this ridiculous rehearsed sales pitch that included an assumption of my story(way off) and tried to make me emotional about my body's condition. He was so arrogant and over confident it was a red flag off from the start. That vibe you get when you hear the practiced sales pitch ... one that the Doctor knows is bogus and it comes out in the social queues ... He went on to say "I'll tell you like you were my own son, you need this surgery so you can get on with your life, you've been held back. Trust me I have never had a problem with any of my patients" Nice try idiot, but people want a great surgeon, not a great salesman. When I asked about his youtube video which demonstrated a technique that cuts the skin away from the fat using an sparking tool, he shot his own method down, stating it was an old video and he doesn't do it that way… because it causes hardness of the underlying tissue beneath the skin (makes sense .. okay but didn't he just say he's never had problems ? Lie #2, Red Flag) He was just so arrogant in his assumptions we never even got to any real questions that would differentiate him from other surgeons. Dr. Caridi preys on the emotionally compromised, expecting he knows all about you and what you want to hear. His sales pitches makes you so nautious and I honestly pray that people see through his muck; they should seek another surgeon who cares about the patient rather than the sell of his ego. His staff was excellent, that's the only thing he has going for him. Good luck everyone.
