I saw Dr. Cheney for a spine condition and he stated it will not paralyze me, you were wrong he ordered an MRI ti took 6.5 weeks for his nurse to return my calls with the results. Upon meeting with Dr. Cheney he was a very condescending person, talked to my wife and I like we are stupid and outright told me he did not have the skills to operate on me and to lose weight there is nothing wrong with your spine. Thank you, Dr. Cheney for treating a person lower than a piece of crap, and minimizing my symptoms. Well, I got news for you thank god I did not think you were a god because there were major problems with my spine and you and Dr. Darril Dirisio totally colluded with each other to break my balls and for that, I thank you because I moved on thank god. I would not allow this doctor to do an autopsy on my dead cat let alone operate on my spine.

I can not believe I was billed so much for 5 minutes of getting blown off. The patients who gave a good rating must have been money makers for him and he actually treated properly.

He was extremely rude and arrogant. He was a second opinion and when he saw my scans he coldly told me my spine was a complete mess. I am a young mother of three and Tears filled my eyes, because I had been in so much severe pain . He told me that I looked pale and not to faint in his office. I chose to go to NYC Hospital for Special Surgery for a third opinion. They were the best of the best drs there and not one time did any of their spine team physicians have an arrogant attitude.They fixed me with options that Dr.Cheney never offered. Run from this man as fast as u can. He is definitely more concerned about how is hair is holding up then how is patients r holding up.

I have read a few negative reviews. Please note they have nothing to do with his skill, but rather his attitude or promptness. Let me emphasize that I will take skill over promptness and a little arrogance any day. He performed a flawless laminectomy on me. 14 months later I had a horrendous fall on the same area. Dr Cheney was in surgery for the next several days so I went to another Dr at another practice. He did an MRI and CT and gave me shots in my back and told me I more than likely needed a fusion on L3 and L4 due to multiple fractures. Did not like the sound of that. Waited in extreme pain till Dr Cheney was back. He and another radiologist reviewed the MRI and CT. Said I had zero fractures but a large hematoma that would heal with rest. Two weeks later I am back to work and 98% back to normal. Thank god for Dr Cheney. His follow up's do run quite late sometimes.

Have been a patient of doctor Cheny for 10 years and he is the best. Listens to you,respects your concerns and answers all your questions with clarity and professionalism. At some point I'll need surgical intervention to treat my back problem but have absolutely NO reservations about his ability.

Dr. Cheney thoroughly explained my diagnosis to me and answered all of my questions. He is conservative about surgery in that he is not quick to recommend it and will only do what is necessary at the time. Recently, he treated me for lumbar spinal stenosis. I was in constant pain for a year and was unable to do basic things like sit and stand for periods of time. When I awoke from the surgery, I was free of the pain I had been enduring. Everyone I know whom he has treated considers him to be an outstanding doctor and surgeon. I enthusiastically recommend him!

After suffering for several years, undergoing repeated PT, the pt stopped working. I was diagnosed with two herniated cervical discs, and told that my follow up should be with Dr. C. By the time I saw him, the pain was unbearable, and I could no longer work. I woke up after the surgery pain free. He only fused one level because the second herniation wasn't causing the pain. It was the right call to make. That was 14 years ago, and I am still fine, and the second disc has not yet needed treatment. I appreciated his conservative approach, the excellent care that I received. Recently, I have sent several people to him, and they have all called to thank me for the recommendation, as they also say they have their lives back now. I wouldn't consider any other doctor for spinal care.

The appt was made Two months in advance. I wanted a second opinion after an accident since I was in daily pain. When he came in the examining room he had no reports or scans even though I had signed releases to be sent to him two months before. No reports? How can I diagnose you? You are getting old go home and enjoy your life. That is what he had the audacity to say in front of me and my significant other. I became depressed. Thanks for treating me like crap. Btw I had an operation by another surgeon who treats me with respect. They are thorough and never make me feel as though I am a waste of tome.
