If your medical condition requires opiate pain medication, STAY AWAY FROM THIS GROUP! I have been with another pain management doctor for years, & he's retiring, so I desperately need a replacement. I have severe damage to my spine from an MVA, LOTS of records & documentation (MRI's, X-rays, etc). HE DIDN'T WANT TO LOOK AT ANY OF IT! He looked at my previous prescriptions in the opiate database before he came in the room, and had already decided I was a drug seeker, without ever looking at a single record! I told him I have an L-2 spinal vertebrae compression fracture (& other spinal damage, both cervical & lumbar), & I have lots of pain that comes with it. His exact words were, "Who told you that you have that?" Believe me, it's the kind of injury you KNOW you have. I told him the physicians at Baylor Hospital, who took care of me for the month I was admitted there, were the ones who told me I had the injury. I tried to show him the reports, and photos of the x-rays, but he was… not interested AT ALL. He also said he doesn't allow you to go to ANY other doctors, except for primary care. I'm currently seeing another specialist (NOT FOR PAIN MEDS) who does spinal injections. He told me I would have to stop seeing him, and allow him to do them instead, but he only does them in Ft. Worth, which is an hour drive for me. This, as well as other comments by both him & his nurse, demonstrates this practice is only profit driven, & NOT about patient care. This is incidental, but his nurse was extremely RUDE! She was almost hostile, & I could never really understand why. His demeanor was cold & arrogant. He said disparaging things about my other doctors (even though he did not look at any of my records), and implied that his judgment was far superior. My experience was not unique. While I was there, I talked to another woman who had an almost identical ordeal during her appointment. I heard her say when she walked out the office door, that she was going to have to find someone else who wouldn't waste her time. I guess that makes two of us.

Very sincere, and thourough, using the services that the county provide, I am glad to have him as my doctor.

A promise most docters have to take, but no one say's they have to beleive in it. Needs, to spend more time diagnosing the problems and symptoms, pain managment, is one thing, but their is a root to the problem, and further research in order to diagnose fully, and not just partial diagnosis. Find the compassion to make sure you are fully helping the patiant, and not yourself. not everyone is a number, not everything is routine. take the time
