Dr. Robert B Contrucci, DO

I have used Dr Contrucci twice in the past, but haven't visited in 6 years. My hearing is getting worse, so I made an appointment. I was clear over the phone that the appointment needed to be both a hearing test and seeing the doctor. I also asked them to confirm my insurance before the appointment. I was out of town for 3 days, and during that time I received three messages from them with a third one telling me that they are canceling my appointment because I didn't respond. My wife called and they scheduled the appointment again. When I arrived, they told me that my insurance does cover the appointment, but some services may be subject to deductible. I paid the $40 copay and they assured me that no services that are subject to deductible would be done without telling me first. The doctor was with me for 5 minutes, one minute looking in my ears, 10 seconds looking in my nose, and the rest of the time talking to me about the problem. He informed me that they did not make the… appointment for the hearing test, they never do that at the same time as seeing the doctor. Why not? That's just trying to get extra money out of us. and they told me over the phone that they had scheduled it for that. Nevertheless, he didn't have anyone available to do the test that day. As I was leaving, they wanted to set up the appointment for the hearing test but said that they had to contact the insurance first because it wouldn't be covered otherwise. I have a PPO, so I know that's not true. They also asked me to pay $154 for the 10 seconds he spent looking in my nose, because that was part of the deductible. I explained that they had not told me that anything was covered by the deductible, and that they had specifically said that they would tell me if anything needed to be under the deductible before doing it. The office manager and billing manager both came out, neither one was willing to waive the charge. They told me it was my responsibility to know my insurance coverage even though their receptionist had told me that they would do it. I only paid the $40 copay because I wanted a hearing test. They did not give me the hearing test that I paid for. So I need a $40 refund, and I absolutely will not pay for the $154 because that was for a service that I never authorized. I will continue to file bad reviews, write letters, and do anything I can to get this place shut down until I receive an apology letter from them in which they state that I have no further obligation to them and that they have canceled any charges that are outstanding, and a refund of my $40 since they committed fraud by taking my money for a service they had no intention of giving.

Dr Contrucci was more interested in spending the least amount of time with you rather than addressing the issues you were there for. It cost me $100 to be referred to another physician than any kind of diagnosis or suggestion.... nothing! Completely ignored the issues I was there for. If you want to spend money to see a doctor for a few minutes and have him address every issue except the one you came in for then he's your doctor. A complete waste of time and money!!!

I waited in exam room for about 40 minutes. Dr. Construcci arrived and did a cursory examination of my ears and removed some wax. He then sent me for hearing test. After the test I was sent to wait in his office for another 15 minutes. He told me my results and then as I was getting ready to leave he sneezed into his hands and then put out his hand to say goodbye. I shook his hand and then used the office restroom to wash them. Makes me wonder if he washed his hands before he examined me.

I needed an ENT to remove excessive wax buildup in my ears, and he got the job done within a few minutes! He was very efficient and personable. I will be seeing him yearly from now on. Great experience.

not personable, spent no time and didn't diagnose me. came back twice and had to go somewhere else.

He is a awesome doctor who knows all his patients. We have been going to him for over 25 years. He is the best.
