Dr. Robert Lee Davis, MD

I took my son to the ER with a spreading rash that had been previously diagnosed as Staph. The rash was getting increasingly worse, and spreading rapidly. Since it had already been diagnosed as Staph and seemed to be resisting treatment I was concerned about MRSA, which is a serious and legitimate concern. Dr. Davis came into the room and curtly asked what the problem was. I explained my concern about MRSA and his response was, "I don't know what you think I can do about it, you need to see a dermatologist". To which I reiterated I was aware of that need, however my immediate concern was MRSA since his rash had resisted treatment for the staph, and I was scared. He very briefly looked at my son's rash, made another few condescending comments then prescribed two very strong meds before rudely exiting. My son (13) even commented afterwards that he was very rude and talked down to me. The nurse came in to explain the meds afterwards and appeared to be a little surprised or… uncomfortable with his course of prescription. He did not take a culture or a biopsy, he just prescribed the meds, almost as if to just pacify this mom who wasted his time. My I called and told my sons PCP about the visit and he was able to get us in a couple days later to a specialist dermatologist. The dermatologist we saw commented that she was shocked he prescribed those meds so casually without running any labs. I understand ER Dr.s are under a lot of pressure, and that often people use the ER as a default rather than going through proper channels, however that wasn't my situation. He was dismissive, and patronizing. He doesn't listen, and he has poor bedside manner. It makes me angry how expensive that 4-6 minutes of abuse was.

He was very kind and professional. He asked a lot of questions and actually listened to my answers. Was able to figure out what was wrong with me, and ensured that I would get follow up care urgently.

never been around a Doctor as unhappy as this guy is..if he hates his job as well as he shows it, he needs to get out and find something that can bring him some happiness, cause what he is doing is ripping him apart from the inside out..he's about as dry as a old mans foot...

MY WIFE WAS SEEN BY DR DAVIS AT ST ALS ER NAMPA, HE FAILED TO PROVIDE A DIAGNOSIS AND THEY STILL CHARGED $3,000. WE HAD TO GO ELSE WHERE FOR PROPER TREATEMENT.
