Dr. Robert H Davis, MD

My husband had a colonoscopy and Dr. Davis performed the pathology tests on the polyps. We never received a bill until 3 months later and his office said they were going to send it to a collection agency in 10 days. I called the office and the woman I spoke to extended it until Dec., so I could contact our insurance company. I talked to our insurance company and they told me they have tried to reach out to Dr. Davis and his office to get him in-network, but his office has blocked our insurance company. I then called the proctologist and they did not know he was not in-network, that they just use Mary Rutan Hospital and don't have any control who does the tests. They did find it interesting and concerning as this is a known fact among one of the biggest employers in the county. I have paid the bill, but as long as Dr. Robert Davis is running the pathology department at Mary Rutan Hospital, we will take our business elsewhere.

Works with an in-network hospital as an out-of-network provider of lab services. In other words, this doctor deceptively charges higher rates than the customer and insurance have agreed to pay, and then tries to bill the customer for the difference. You won't even know the hospital has sent something to this lab until you get the bill.
