Dr Robert C. Detch, MD

I saw Dr. Detch today on referral for a torn calf muscle. His PA was great. Dr. Detch was arrogant and insensitive. I wear a mask in medical settings due to my husband's cancer. The doctor told me wearing the mask bothered him. May be a great doctor and I was so "hot" by his strange comment that I could not process anything else he said. Totally uncalled for and he did not apologize for his remark.

Dr. Detch did a total hip replacement surgery for me, replacing my right hip a year ago. Before surgery, I had a lot of pain that also affected my being able to walk well. I have been so happy with the care I've received from Dr. Detch, and the results of the surgery from the beginning. Immediately after surgery, I no longer had any of the pre-surgery pain in my hip that I had had before surgery. I had surgery pain, of course, and that became less and less each week. I walk without pain now! In my recovery, I was secure in the confidence I had in Dr. Detch; and there were no complications at all after surgery, I improved step by step each week, walking just a day after surgery, and about 2 months after surgery, I was able to walk with no pain in my hip

Dr Robert Detch has performed 3 surgeries on my body; two total hip replacements and a patella reconstruction. I, literally, wouldn’t be walking if not for his expertise. He’s a wonderful person, too and I would and have recommended him to friends. He’s 5 stars in my book!

I saw Dr. Detch last week to arrange for surgery for a medial meniscus tear. He didn't want to schedule surgery and instead gave me a cortisone shot. Less than 24 hours later I was in extreme pain. I contacted him and arranged for a follow-up visit. I explained the shot had taken discomfort and turned it into full on pain. Again he refused to schedule surgery. He said he would contact my neurologist today and get back to me. I never heard back from him.

Only had one visit but am very impressed with him. He made ,me feel that his care would be what I needed.

Very Pleasant experience overall. Dr. Detsch is a great listener and dealt with all of my concerns in a prompt and conscientious manner.
