Dr. Robert Frederick Dons, MD

I came to Dr. Dons looking for clues to a decades long undiagnosed health issue. What I found was dismissiveness, misogyny, and condescension from someone who diagnosed before entering the room and aggressively gaslit and mansplained until he left. Yet another waste of time, energy and money trying to find help.

Gave me the wrong and Opposite diagnosis

I have a Tricare referral to Dr Don. I have called is office FOUR times (got the vmail 3 times and a "live" person once) to ask to set up an appointment to see him. So far, no return phone calls. The last call to Dr Don's office was this past Wednesday and I spoke to a receptionist and she assured me that the person who sets up appointments would call me back. Didn't happen. Dr Don ... if you see this, how about having your staff call me ... or better yet, you can call me. What is going on???

This man misdiagnosed me, was grossly negligent, and should be reprimanded for severe malpractice! He ablated a healthy thyroid and ruined my health, and was completely careless with his diagnosis. Please, Please consider another Doctor when choosing an Endocrinologist.

I had my first and last appointment with Dr. Dons. He did not considered my history of symptoms,-Hair loss-Cold Intolerance and constant feeling of coldness-Brain Fog and confusion-Dry Skin-Dry Eyes-Depression-Irritability-PROFOUND Fatigue-Loss of muscle mass-Decreased libido-Chronic, recurrent urinary tract infectionsHe did not consider that ALL of these symptoms have dramatically improved as a result of the replacement hormones that I have been prescribed by other doctors. Nor did it appear that he heard me, when I stated that I drank a few cups coffee to which I am not accustomed before my appointment, because I was tired on that morning and consequently I was unusually spun up. He interpreted my reaction to caffeine and my rush to finish and leave work as hyperthyroidism. He gave inappropriate weight to the result of my last blood test, and it appears did not hear me when I conveyed the unusual events surrounding those results. He suggested that I should stop taking the… replacement hormones that have made it possible for me to continue working and have dramatically improved my quality of life. Nor did he consider the results of my MRI. My sister and I have shared the same symptoms and the same treatment has resulted in dramatic improvements in our health and well-being. It has been a long and difficult road to recovery and Dr. Dons suggested that I completely dismantle the very program that has made a profound improvement in my life.Mr. Dons is dismissive of his patient and their first hand knowledge of their symptoms and treatment. His opinion is in opposition with five other doctors that have cared for me. Further, I believe that he does women a disservice by dismissing and failing to treat their symptoms.No wonder it was easy to get an appointment.

Dr. Donn's is oneof those rare Doctors that actually takes the time to listen. IN his listening, his diagnosis is spot on. Yhe only complaint is the office staff trying to rush him on for the next appointment. They shouold understand it is a rare strength.

Dr. Don's is a great and caring doctor. I look forward to seeing him everytime I have an appointment. Dr. Dons treats you like a real person
