Dr. Robert John Doolan, MD

What more could you want than a Board certified internal medicine doctor that is not only a good listener, a leader that CU Anschutz Medical Center entrusts with their students, interns and others and who is on top of the latest medical research and knowledge. My husband and I have been seen by Dr. D for more than 10 years since our early 60s. He has been accessible and his given us great care and direction through many different medical issues. Highly recommend Dr. Doolan

I have found Dr Doolan to be very patient and understanding. He listens to the patients needs and will after careful analysis will diagnose the problem and recommend several options, letting you the individual determine which course you wish to follow.

Pros: They are quick to provide lab result feedback. They use Qwest as their lab who are fine though demand a Dr.'s order for bloodwork (disallow patient requested labwork). Cons: They do not offer a 'meet and greet' so you can at least speak with a physician to get to know him/her before making your primary care physician (not even a 5 min. handshake-hello). Their hold music only plays commercials (ads for Dish Network playing when I last called - Do they really the extra money?) The Receptionists 'Pat' and 'Kris' don't offer their names when answering the phones. It is difficult to find visitor parking at their facility and wasn't told about their hidden visitor spots when setting my first appt. (lots of assigned spots and difficult to find street parking) Doesn't give eye-contact during visits. He just stares at his iPad on his lap which gives the perception that he does not have any real interest in his patients. He doesn't open up dialog to determine if there are any… mental health flags. It's understood that they need to take notes but the eyes rarely came up which gives the perception that he was either nervous, dismissive, arrogant, and/or scripted). Bottom line: ALWAYS question physicians and spend the time doing research online when selecting them/diagnosing any health concerns, they should be receptive and not defensive when questioned. The staff at this office can correct all of the cons above if they choose to. I will update and/or remove this post when/if my experience changes.
