Dr. Robert James Dougherty JR., MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Dougherty for 5 years and he was great. Fast forward as of last year he stopped seeing patients in his office unless you paid extra to be in his "club". It of course is money you pay the doctors office as a premium to be seen by him. If you do not join this club you cannot see the doctor. You will see a nurse practitioner or P.A. The nurse practitioner they have now just decided at my last visit that she did not want to renew a prescription I have been taking for years. No explanation, no reason just decided she did not want to prescribe it. Now I have to look for another doctor. So my rating is accurate. A doctor that doesn't see patients unless they belong to a club. A nurse practitioner that is unethical to take someone off of a medication that the patient has taken for years to help them sleep. What a choice.

Dr. Dougherty has a relaxed demeanor, listens to and addresses your concerns and never makes you feel rushed.

Only thing good about this office is PA's and he has gone through quite a few. He is arrogant and never made accurate diagnois/treatment.

It is almost impossible to get in to see Dr. Doughtery. You will be scheduled with the Nurse and usually not told so when scheduling the appointment. The office staff is incompetent and unhelpful.

LOVE this man! He is kind, patient and thorough! Feel like family!

No one called me to see how my visit went but I was ok with that.

Dr. D is great! He spends a lot of time with you and really cares about his patients. You can never get a hold of the staff... EVER! I've realized that the office staff keeps their ringer on silent so they never have to answer calls. They never call you back and they don't have the nice, helpful attitude that you would expect. Several times I was told my prescriptions would be called in and they never were. Wish the rest of the staff was as great as the doctors. Sorry dr. D but I'm tired of dealing with your office, I'm finding a new doctor.

My husband and I were nervous about having to switch doctors. But after our meeting with him we were very happy with him. His easy manner was such a relief. We have already recommended him to our family members.

This doctor is one of the best I've ever met...including his handling of subspecialty health problems. His medical staff is also friendly, warm and caring. However, I can't say the same about his office staff. They can be rude, don't return phone calls, have been known to lie (re returning phone calls, giving messages to the medical staff), and have been known to hang up on you when they don't want to hear what you have to say anymore. If you can stand putting up with the office staff. then this doctor is WONDERFUL!
