He should be fired He dismissed my medical issues, his misdiagnosis lead me to 26-day hospitalization. I was evaluated in the ER at Peconic Bay Medical in Riverhead on February 2nd with severe symptoms including shortness of breath, extremely pale, Bi Lateral leg swelling in both legs, loss of appetite, burning in legs when trying to walk and more. This here attending ER doctor, Robert Ehlers, DO completely blew off my complaints, failed to run proper diagnostic tests, misdiagnosed me with having a cough, told me I was being discharged and that i should go see my primary care dr in which I told him I didnt feel safe going home and requested another dr. He refused I was discharged and within hours of being sent home, my condition deteriorated rapidly i went to my primary care Dr and instantly when looking at me my Dr said I had to be rushed right back to the emergency room via ambulance. The second medical team recognized the severity of my condition immediately. Dr. Robert… Ehlers, DO initial misdiagnosis was so severe that I had to be formally admitted to the hospital, where I remained hospitalized from February 2nd until February 28th fighting a critical illness. This doctor’s complete dismissal of my emergency symptoms put my life at risk and Im still under continuous medical review & care lucky to be alive.
