Best doctor in the Midwest, would not change my doctor

Dr. Erickson is everything you want/need from a Neuro-Surgeon. Go to a Comedy Club for humor, go to a therapist for an ego boost. Go to Dr. Erickson when you want a world class Doctor for your pain. - Thanks again, Dr. Erickson ...Definitely the BEST doctor I have ever known!

He was rude, short, condescending and rushed. Not welcoming and could not get our questions answered. Waste of time.

The doctor is excellent at his Job, I read a review where he admired his work, so what I would to if I was him. He preformed my back surgery and he was great and his talent shows in the fact that I am pain free after years of back pain. I have 2 surgeries and he was far better then the other doctor at Rush.

He is good at what he does. He also admires his own work. Looking more at the MRI/XRAYS than the patient. Makes comments on how great of work he does. If you want an empathic Doctor this is not your Doctor. If you want a great surgeon he is your guy.

I have been sick for 11 years. I have autoimmune diseases and been to Mayo Clinic 3 times. Pain in all joints and severe pain in the back. I had surgery a year ago to the right side and it has limited the pain. We are trying to get the left side done. Fighting with insurance to approve it. Dr and his staff has always been very kind to me. He has a hard and stressful job and always had great mannerism. Trust him as he makes you better!

I was having issues with my vision when i was refereed this doctor due to a possible "Major issue" with my brain. Not having insurance my doctor was helping me with a helping hands program. The receptionist for Erickson first asked me about payment. I told her about the helping hands and she said "Dr. Erickson doesn't do charity." and hung up on me. Good to know that he literally only cares about his money.

Dr. Erickson was in the office the day after my surgery which was performed by Dr. Citow. I was having a small complication, and I was asked to come into the office to be seen. Dr. Erickson was rude and dismissive of my concerns. When I asked one question about the problem, he said, "You know what? If you want to wait here for a few hours, Dr. Citow will be in and you can ask him instead if you would prefer." I was very turned off by this behavior and was sure to tell the front desk about this experience. Dr. Citow, himself, called me to follow up on this report and apologized for his colleagues behavior stating that Dr. Erickson was in surgery until 2am the evening before. Honestly, I get tired too, but it is not a reason to treat people rudely.

Dr Erickson gave me my life back!! I was very scared to take the next step and have surgery. He was the most confident Dr I saw after having seen five surgeons for a second opinion. I went back to Dr Erickso and mever looked back. Once he performed the surgery which was a success at the follow up appt I gave him a hug and thanked him. I have seen him a few times since and have had no problems with him or his staff. At times there is a wait, however I expect this especially when I beleive I am seeing the best doctor! I will always be thankful for my decision to see him!!!!
