Dr. Robert Gordon Gayle, MD

Dr. Gayle received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA, as well as completing his surgical internship and residency. In 1980 he completed his vascular and renal transplant surgery fellowship at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia and spent two years as a visiting fellow in organ transplantation surgery at the University of Cambridge Clinical School, in Cambridge, England. In 1981 Dr. Gayle joined Norfolk Surgical Group - Vascular Division. As a result of the merger of two separate vascular surgery groups, Dr. Gayle recently began practicing with Vascular & Transplant Specialists where he serves on its board of directors.

Dr. Gayle is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), a Registered Vascular Technologist, and is certified by the American Board of Surgery in vascular surgery. He is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia and serves on a number of hospital …advisory boards and committees.

Dr. Gayle has admitting privileges at all of the hospitals located in Norfolk, Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach.
