Dr. Robert John Gibson, MD

My family loves Dr. Gibson. They are of a different generation than me. When I was 10, I was very nervous because I had just started wearing a bra. Dr. Gibson was listening to my heartbeat when he said "Aww, Hello Kitty!" about the character on the bra I was wearing. Fast forward about 12 years, I went to see him about an infection and was prescribed antibiotics. I asked if they interfered with my birth control. (Many antibiotics do.) His response was, "just tell him you have a headache. Works every time." I have two problems with this comment. One is that it didn't take my concern not to have an unplanned pregnancy seriously. The second is that it makes an overall assumption that sex is not usually wanted by women, rather, just tolerated as something unpleasant they must grin and bear. If you have male children, I'm sure Dr. Gibson would be a fine choice. If you have a girl, and you want her to grow up feeling strong, independent, in charge of her health choices, and not… humiliated, find someone else.

Overall good experience.

I was not impressed by his professionalism, and bedside manner was poor. I would not recommend him to friends.
