The restorative dentist of the 21st century must be at once a student, a practitioner, and an artist.  To set my practice apart from others, I rigorously pursue extracurricular professional experience and continuing education in order to be fluent in all facets of dental specialties.
I focus my practice on cosmetic and restorative dentistry and prosthetics but tailor my services to your comprehensive dental health.  When complex needs exist, I am able to gather and lead a team of specialists to outline necessary treatment and effectively orchestrate treatment for the benefit of the patient.
Dentistry as a specialty of medicine is becoming increasingly complex, and it demands a team approach to difficult problems.  A commitment to engaging one’s mind, seeking out new experiences and treatment modalities, and acting in leadership roles remains essential to my dental …practice; this is what sets my practice apart from the rest.
I actively define my practice as a relationship practice, one that treats the person and not the patient.  By emphasizing the humanistic approach to dental care, the process of dental therapy is infinitely easier and more accessible.
My position as Section Chief of Restorative Dentistry, Department of Dentistry, Yale New Haven Hospital mandates that I must stay current with the newest trends and developments.

Dr. Robert Golia: Excellence in Dentistry
Dr. Golia received a B.A. degree in Biology from Lafayette College in 1976. He received his DDS from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in 1980. In 1981, Dr. Golia completed a General Practice Residency at Hartford Hospital. Dr. Golia is an alumnus of the L.D. Pankey Institute having taken continuous post graduate studies there from 1989 until 2008.
Professional Affiliations
Dr. Golia is a member of the American Dental Association, Connecticut Dental Association, New Haven Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. He attained his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 1990 and his Fellowship in the Pierre Fauchard Academy in 2004.
Appointments
Dr. Golia holds appointments at Yale New Haven Hospital as the Section Chief of Restorative Dentistry, Department of Dentistry, Yale School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Surgery (Dental).  Additionally he is a visiting lecturer at the Oral Maxillofacial Surgery residency program at Hospital of Saint Raphaels and a State Police Surgeon, Department of Public Safety, State of Connecticut.
Summary
Dr. Golia’s practice is dedicated to excellence, both in clinical dentistry and in the environment in which the dentistry is performed. His talented staff is a constant reminder that teamwork results in an amazing dental experience. From the most simplistic procedures involving whitening, tooth colored restorations and “Lumineers” to the most complex reconstruction involving implants and aesthetics, Dr. Golia has the training and the experience to maximize all clinical outcomes.
