I'm a palliative care specialist and Tenured Professor in the Department of Family Medicine where I serve as the Vice Chair for Research and was the Inaugural Holly & Bob Miller Endowed Chair in Palliative Medicine (2016-2024). I help lead the Vermont Conversation Lab inter-disciplinary team of creative, inspiring and productive student and faculty communication scientists. I have also authored more than 100 original research publications and received funding from the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, the National Palliative Care Research Center, the Greenwall Bioethics Foundation and the American Cancer Society.
