Dr. Robert Hollis Gross

Appointment was scheduled for 0900 and my father was not called back till 0930. At this point Dr. Gross did not come in the room until after 1000. During the exam Dr. Gross proceeded to go off on my hard of hearing father saying things like “didn’t you hear me” and “I already said that.” I have been zero tolerance for God Complex physicians. As someone who runs a medical office I am appalled by the lack of care my father received. To further disappoint there were unnecessary surgical clearance requests and procedures added to his visit. My father did not leave this office until 11:00. To put in perspective, a 2 hour wait to spend 7 minutes with a rude physician. We will be going elsewhere and ensuring that referring physician are aware of the type of care Dr. Gross condones.

Top surgeon who is helpful and caring.

Had been to same office for years and everything was great; but doctor I had been seeing moved on to surgical end of things. This was first visit with this doctor and he hardly addressed me and didn't want to hear anything from me. Wasn't interested in treating my condition at all the same way it had been for the prior 3-4 years. Instead just tried to tell me I needed to buy a certain type of supplement, which was VERY expensive. Never been treated by a doctor who treats his patients quite so disrespectfully by a doctor, or who seems to have no interest in his patients. Afraid it could ruin the practice that used to have a good reputation.

I excuse poor bedside manner, but on second visit (first visit they spent more time selling their nutraceuticals than the exam), dr. gross didn't even address my cause for the appt - regarding what i learned were clogged sebaceous glands-just repeated that i go to the surgeon re my "droopy" eyelids. I went six months later to surgeon due to a back surgery recovery. They said I needed a second visual field procedure because the one I had w dr. gross was weeks before the six month deadline. i asked the surgeon's mgr. if i may have it redone with dr. gross's tech who had done it initially. they said sure. it turns out surgeon and dr. agreed that surgeon should do visual field test, but when i came in to dr. gross's office for visual field, having called that morning to confirm appt for visual field, having traveled an hr. for this appt. they said the surgeon wanted to do the test. i do not object to this. I highly object that dr. gross did not instruct his office to contact me to… cancel the test appt - no excuse. i called the day of the appt to confirm, i received no notice when the surgeon and dr. decided surgeon should do test. so i traveled an hr. to be told dr. gross's office would not do the retest. INCONSIDERATE. incomplete exams. i traveled to an appt. for the bumps obscuring my vision, and, he repeated to have surgery, then, when I said, what about the bumps, he did not examine -just said to have surgeon extract them. no exam - it could have been cancer for all he knew, no examination of them. i know he overschedules and is always in a rush, but he should have told his office to call and cancel visual field appt. and contact surgeon. even day of appt, they did not let me know they would not do the visual field again, and they did not tell me to schedule it w surgeon. no excuse no excuse for the disrespect of my condition, treatment and my time! i will not go back to dr. gross. this is not about his surgical skills. this is about his disrespect for his patients. and my dad was a physician - i'm pro drs.

Dr. Gross always made it clear that "his" time was important. When I had the first complication, he performed a very painful remedial procedure on my eye, in office, without anesthesia, sternly scolding me for inadvertently, moving my head back, and stating that he was trying to keep from taking me back into surgery. He rarely volunteered information, and didn't want to answer my questions. After exams, while I was still in the exam room, he was at the front counter urging staff to hurry and get the rest of the patients through. Later, when I had questions about a new complication, he was abrupt, arrogant, and impatient, as he chided "me" to be patient. I had one complication after another from the start, even though, I followed his instruction to a "tee". With the first complication, he asked if I had perhaps not followed instructions. I have been told, since by other drs., ( one from his own group,) that I had done nothing wrong to cause it. I believe that this… dr. is probably a competently skilled surgeon, but seems to want to just do the surgery and be paid, and not be bothered with anything else. I now must have more surgery to correct complications of this surgery. Dr. Gross will not be my surgeon! This is an account of my experience, and there are many other details I could have mentioned. Others may have had a better experience, but I cannot recommend this doctor to anyone!

He is impatient and does not like to be questioned on his decision of treatment. Which in my case resulted in ulcers on both corneas. I went twice, now being treated and helped elsewhere. would not reccomend

Dr. Gross did the 1st of my husband's 2 cataract surgeries this afternoon. (2wks b4 the other eye) We've been very happy with the experience so far. When my husband went in4his pre-op appt, most of the nurse(s) were extremely thorough in their exams, tests & in the amount of information they provided & the time that they, the scheduling gal & Dr.Gross spent with him that day. My husband came away from that appt happy w/ his choice of doctor & completely comfortable w/ & looking forward to the procedure. Dr. Gross is clearly an accomplished surgeon, and absolutely an expert in his field. But on top of that (& what prompted this review) is the fact that Dr.Gross, himself, phoned my husband tonight to check on him! I was blown away by that! The surg.center nurse had said someone would call to check on Scott, but I imagined it would be the receptionist in the coming days, or maybe a nurse. That Dr. Gross made that phone call speaks volumes to me about the kind of caregiver he… is! Which brings me back to the subject line if my post: We couldn't be happier with the care we've received from Dr. Gross' office & from Dr. Gross, himself! (of course if my husband doesn't still think I'm pretty after they take the patch off his eye2moro, I may have 2revise this review!ha!ha! In other words, full disclosure: this review covers our experience w/ the ofc & w/ Dr. Gross up thru this point. We don't no the outcome of my husband's surgery yet. But, we feel truly confident that Dr. Gross has delivered successful results.)

He is rude, inconsiderate and misdiagnosed me. Go somewhere else please!

Dr Gross is the rudest most badgering doctor I have ever met. This doctor wants no REAL questions about diagnosis or treatment . I sat in off and every patient was being scheduled for a perrifial vision test as a way to make more money. I think insurance companies should be aware. I had a appointment at 10 and two hours later was seen by doctor. Stay away from here.
