I met with Dr. Haddad twice as I was seeking a second opinion on my head and neck cancer. An initial meeting got him up to speed on my condition and where I was in my treatment. Basically, his PA did all the work as far as taking notes. Dr. Haddad ordered a pet scan, which was totally reasonable. When the pet scan results came back, they indicated an aggressive cancer and a grim situation. Dr. Haddad explained the results to me. He called me the day before our meeting (didn’t leave a voicemail) because I am sure he knew I had access to the results online. Still, there was a four-day separation between my getting the results and actually having a conversation with Dr. Haddad. That is unacceptable and shows a deficit in humanity. After he explained the results, he murmured “I’m sorry” and left the room. There was no conversation. I returned to my original oncologist after this meeting. There is no doubt Dr. Haddad is knowledgeable, but he needs to work on his bedside manner.

Dr. Haddad & the team at the Head & Neck Oncology Center at the Dana Farber saved my life when I was diagnosed with Stage 3/4 tonsil cancer. I travelled from my residence in Switzerland for treatment and it was worth every penny and every hour.

Despite the difficult navigation in, I arrived early and was taken nearly right away. As soon as Dr. Haddad came back from lunch, he saw me right away. He spent quality time assessing my situation and was able to provide a treatment that seems to address my issue when no one else could. Only time will tell, but to Dr. Haddad - thumbs up!!!
