Dr Robert Hagberg, MD

Well, here I am. Dr. Hagberg operated on me in 2001...........new valve and a couple procedures along the long surgery. He was an amazing Doctor who promised me I would NOT have a bad experience like I had in 1998 when I had open heart surgery. I woke up so quickly with very little pain, hungry and ready to go.............God bless Dr. Hagberg and thank you for saving my life........I am now 75 years.

I am totally happy with the surgery received by Dr Hagberg. I was able to go home after 4 days and went back to work after 5 weeks. my scar is hardly noticeable and hasn't given me any trouble at all. no pain or discomfort. At 78 I was a little apprehensive about having open heat surgery, but I couldn't be more impressed. Thank you.

When I went to doctor hagberg 6months ago I was never so scared in all my to go thru with getting my arota fixed at the time I was only 79 pounds and smoking 3packsof cigarettes a day so yea I was not thinking good thoughts on my life at the time so anyways I went to see him and he told me I had to quite smoking and he made me feel so at ease he's nurse made me feel the same way he also said I needed to get dental work done cause I could get infection from my gums after the surgery so I did all that last week on wed 15th 2015 I went in to hartford hospital omg I started to cry to my husband after they started the i.v. I said to my husband I don't want to do this he looked at me and said babe u want to go you can go you don't have to do this for a sec I was going to walk but then I thought about my life no I thought to myself I'm not ready to lose my life for something stupid like not getting the surgery after the surgery I had a breathing tube in me I felt a little tired but… when I woke up I said to myself omg I'm alive I made it he saved my life . Thank you so much doctor hagberg your the best I owe you so much thank you again this doctor I would tell anyone to go to I've had surgeon in my life but this doctor really cares about his people every day I was in the hospital he came in to see me making sure I was ok what doctor really does doctor hagberg does so if you have any problems with with your aortas please believe me go to him he will take very good care of you

Dr. Hagberg performed an aortic valve & ascending aorta replacement on me. While I was ion the hospital he spent time with me every weekday. My overall experience was not nearly as painful and difficult as I imagined. I attribute this to Dr. Hagberg's skill as a surgeon. My incision healed quickly, and I feel much better overall. I would highly recommend Dr. Hagberg if you need any type of cardiac surgery.

Dr. Hagberg was my surgeon in 2001. It was a long (nine hour) surgery. He had promised me I would not have the bad experience I had when I had four bypasses in 1997. (Dr. Hagberg was NOT my surgeon at that time.) Everything he told me was 100% accurate and I awoke from the surgery ready to go! Could not have asked for better care.........he is a jewel and knows his business.

From the moment I met Dr. Hagberg I had a sense that I was going to be alright. He projects professionalism and a calm confidence that made me feel like I did not want any other doctor for my bypass. He gives you the impression that he knows exactly what he is doing. I owe him my life some three years later, and I am still going strong. If only my father had been so fortunate.
