Dr. Robert Ezra Hamilton III, MD

Worst dr ever! Have had back surgery and was having back pain. He immediately just says kidney stones. I tell him it’s not that. Don’t waste your time if he’s your dr. He doesn’t deserve the title! Insane he has a job from all the other reviews I’ve seen.

Where do I begin? Dr Hamilton walked up to my daughter while in triage and barely gave her an introduction. He put his hands on her without letting her know what he was doing and she commented to me that that was not ok with her. Dr Hamilton would not listen to me when I told him how much pain my daughter was in and because her stomach showed no rebound he immediately said she did not have appendicitis and that this must be a stomach bug. He had Brandon the triage nurse give her Zofran which she threw up... Dr Hamilton never came back in the room to exam my daughter. He checked her tummy while in triage and then checked out... We stayed in our room for what seemed like forever... Asked Nurse Brandon if she could use the restroom. He asked for a urine sample which she got for him but he asked us to take it to our room. Dr Hamilton NEVER requested a urine test be done and the pee literally sat in our room until we were discharged and it was thrown in the trash as we walked out. Nurse… Ashley was the one who came in to give her ibuprofen and let her know we were going to get an xray. She got x-rays done at 727am. We went back to the room. Only then did Dr Hamilton come in our room to say xray showed nothing and she is being discharged with a "virus". My daughter's discharge paperwork states it was printed at 718am. 10 mins before she even had x-rays done... Her paperwork also states that we came in for vomiting which is not fully correct. I let them know as we entered that the nurse hotline sent us to the ER immediately for possible appendicitis. NOTHING states her abdominal pain on the paperwork... In fact her discharge paperwork states "get help right away if... Has pain in abdomen" what in the world is that!??!? I did not trust the judgment of this ER that then decided to take my daughter to urgent care where they pulled a urine test , blood test and ordered a CT. They immediately noticed she had blood in her urine and immediately thought kidney stones. Blood tests results showed an elevated WBC count. CT revealed kidney stone was stuck in the right ureter and was unable to pass through to the bladder. My daughter was then brought downtown to children ER Erlanger where they immediately took her to a room and got an IV started and tramadol and Zofran in her system. TRAMADOL! The kid was in pain and Dr. Hamilton wrote her off as a kid with a stomach virus. He could have ran tests like I asked and a CT like I asked. Hell he could have just ran a urinalysis and saw there was blood in her urine. Or even had done a full physical exam and saw that she not only had pain in her belly button and right side but pain all down her right side of her back... I called Erlanger east ER to file a formal complain with the Director of the ER to only find out that Dr. Hamilton is the Director of the ER. NEVER again will he touch my family and he should be ashamed to call himself a Director of ER let alone a Doctor.

Robert Hamilton is not a good doctor in my opinion. I had been dealing with an unknown medical illness. I have been to the ER at Erlanger hospital several times while he was the attending physician. This doctor and his RN Julia do not care about there patients. He is the type of doctor that does the minimum amount of a work he can do and then if there isn't anything that has a specific giant red flag he dismisses the patient. Robert Hamilton has treated me disrespect and disregard on several occasions. On one visit to the ER, I refused to accept this horribly rude behavior an he called me hypochondriac on my exit paperwork. I have had severe pain in chest and abdominal wall recently found out that I have liver cirrhosis and portal hypertension along with a hernia. You can bleed to death if one of the veins burst from the portal hypertension. This is cause for my pain and some symptoms. This could have been found earlier if he had just ordered a CT of the chest and abdominal. But… because he wrongly diagnosed me and ignored the symptoms and wrote me off as hypochondriac, I now have stage 2 liver cirrhosis and my condition has progressed. I would caution you to avoid this doctor. He does not care about his patients and his attitude toward patients represents a lack of care. He has on more than one occasion broken the hippocratic oath. Beware of this doctor.

I went to the ER suffering from symptoms from insomnia and when he came into the room the first thing he said was “ you haven’t slept in a few day?” I said no then he said “ what do you want me to do” in a sarcastic tone. Worst Doctor I’ve had!

Robert E Hamilton III used "Tennessee River Physicians" as his billing service. TN River is a scam operation. They bill 90 days after service whereby a patient can't negotiate the bill. He is an out-of-network provider for all insurance used at Erlanger where he works. TN River is either lose with your details or sells them off. You will pay the bill only to find that you paid off a scammer and TN River will say that they never received payment. Avoid this doctor and all TN River doctors at Erlanger's ER Department. If you are good at paying your medical bills, this billing service will become your worse nightmare!!!!
