Dr. Robert Erik Hartvigsen, MD

He is a good man but signicant errors in file. I complained about extreme fatigue for three years but it was ultimately me who found out it was low ferritin levels only after a nurse saw bruises on my body. Year before I had to insist on a lower body scan because I knew something wasn't right( he didn't want to). An anyeursm was found. He thought I could still get a woman pregnant on trt therapy. I had to show him about clomid therapy for men. I found out on my own I had lyme .

Have worked with and been a patient of Dr Hartvigsen for 20 years. Simply the best family practice diagnostician in Columbia per Head Of Cardiology SC Medical School. I agree. Have observed his work as a physician and have been his patient for 20 years.

Very rude, and Fat shamed me in front of an intern.

I am a retired RN so I'm familiar with physicians. Dr. Hartvigsen is very knowledgeable on anything I want to discuss. This doctor keeps up with his practice by reading journals and medical updates new and exciting research. Some of the physicians I have known seems to think that their education pretty much ended after graduation. The first time I met with Dr. Hartvigsen, in January, 2017, I knew I would continue being his patient.

I have been seeing Dr. Hartvigsen for about 20 years. I drive 30 minutes to see him, often have to wait, but I know it's because someone needed that extra time and I respect him for that. I truly trust him. I love our visits, it feels more like visiting a friend. He listens to the underlying problems related to the presumed issue, he is like getting a bonus therapist only better because he has actual advise. I prefer a natural approach when available and he has been totally supportive of my preferences. Finally, I am not the ideal patient, I forget to follow up unless I am in pain or need something, I dodge those milestone procedures like the plague, but he always treats me with dignity and respect. I always recommend this doctor!

When I visit, we discuss any and all issues, and I find that he is a partner in my medical care. Far from dictating medicine, we talk about options and frankly I find it astounding that he prefers stretching and exercise rather than drugs for my aches, pains, and arthritis.

Dr. Hartvigsen and his staff are caring, professional staff with high standards and excellent care. Although the wait may sometimes be longer than 15 or 20 minutes, it is because another patient is in need of additional time for care. Having received such attention, I do not mind waiting a bit. Dr. Hartvigsen is an outstanding diagnostician. He was able to diagnose two illnesses I had that several specialists missed. He is well read, maintains a current, state of the art practice while listening carefully tomy concerns and providing total care.

he is ok as long as you let him dictate all your medical needs. don't try to have a say in your own care.
