have been a patient for over 30 years, and my family also. he is the best. his staff is excellent as well, and they all work prifessionalky together. smart, kind person, and our entire family is glad to know him.

this physician is what every patient "deserves". compassionate, knowledgeable, thorough (sent me a detailed letter after visit) and a true credit to his profession. they don't make 'em like this anymore.

My daughter met Dr.Havey and family on vacation many years ago. They became friends and their children became friends. I live in Chicago and one time I had an episode and had to be rushed to the Northwestern ER. My daughter demanded I see Dr. Havey. I have been his patient ever since and at 85 years old, I have many good days, I can travel to see my children, and I drive to Indiana and Kentucky to see my grandchildren! Thank you Dr. Havey for being so kind, considerate, thorough, understanding, and for being an excellent internist. My late husband was also a physician with your qualities. This compassion and professionalism from a care giver seems rare to come by these days. Thank you for your care and concern.

Excellent clinician and diagnostician!

this doctor was recommended to me by my brother-in-law who has been a patient of dr. havey's for over twenty years. i have a complicated medical problem that has persisted for quite some time, and at the urging of my family, made an appointment with dr. havey. he was running a bit behind with his appointments, but immediately apoligized and gave the reason for the delay (never even had my barber apoligize or give a reason for his delays!) then, i had his full attention. he has adjusted my medications, followed up several times (even getting two calls on a weekend) and i am feeling markedly better. for the first time ever, i feel confident that i am in capable hands.

If you want to talk person-to-person to the brightest doctor in the midwest, Dr. Havey is your guy. He talks with you, not down to you like most doctors. He is a true family man and it shows in how he respects people, and then cures them.

Here's all you need to know. I commented to Dr. Havey that his practice was an offering in all of my company's many health plan options, from rich plan to modest. I was struck that he was not just in the rich plans. He's a stud MD with a giant practice who could pick and choose who he wants to see. He said, and I'm paraphrasing, "Doctors do themselves and their patients a disservice if they just treat well-to-do patients." I asked how his practice thrives if he's taking lower payments from lesser plans. He said, "We work harder". You can decide for yourself where this guy's head is at. The staff are all sharp as tacks. He and his staff MD's take exhaustive histories. The reviewer who said he is not judgemental but is forceful is right on. A fine physician.

Bright, efficient, no-nonsense professional. Careful at managing time, but he asks a lot of questions, and he is willing to answer questions endlessly. Good explainer. Not judgmental, but quite forceful in his recommendations. I trust him absolutely. I don't think you could find a better physician.

Dr. Havey has saved me from 2 unecessary surgeries in the last ten years. He has a reputation among other physicians as a gifted diagnostician and I know some wonderful "saves" on his part. A few weeks ago I had some fractured ribs and he saw me immediately which gave me an understanding of why I have to wait sometimes during my regular appointment.I have heard many stories of his intense interest in his patients' well-being and his follow through. He's an extraordinary physician. In my opinion, I couldn't possibly have a better doctor.
