I recently had a endoscopy done by Dr. Robert Heacock. When the appt was set up by his office girl, she was extremely helpful & reassuring. She understood how nervous I was. The day of the procedure, which was done at the Findlay Surgery Center, the facility was very busy, yet the entire staff was very polite & reassuring towards me. They ALL knew how nervous I was, including Dr. R. Heacock himself. I mean, come on, who would want a scope down their throat, but Dr Heacock knew just how scared I was (being I'd never had this done before). The entire staff who prepped me for this procedure went above & beyond reassuring me all was going to be just fine. And I was just that...FINE! I've had a colonoscopy done by Dr. R. Heacock as well about 3 yrs ago & once again the entire staff, from his office gals to the staff at The Findlay Surgery Center went above & beyond to make sure I was at ease. I had the pleasure of being able to speak with Dr. Heacock prior to both of my procedures AND… after each one. He was patient with me & knew my fears, yet set my mind at ease. He was understanding as well. Very professional. I would definitely recommend Dr. Heacock! I've read several reviews on him that weren't all favorable, but I look at it like this, my first procedure (colonoscopy) done by him went great, no issues & the endoscopy went just as great. I had my choice of Dr's & the ONLY way I was going to have my endoscopy done was if Dr. Heacock was going to perform it. Just be open & honest with your Dr. Be upfront & honest with him, voice your fears so he can help you understand better of the procedure. I FULLY recommend Dr. Heacock!

Dr. Heacock reeked of cigarette smoke as he started my procedure. Not a very comforting greeting!

I've waited a few years to post my experience from when I saw Dr. Heacock when I was 17. From my experience is a extremely rude doctor who has a tendency to yell and belittle his patients. I went to him for stomach pain and he ordered a endoscope. The appt was for 7am but he did not arrive until 9am. He was unfriendly when he arrived and made me feel as if running my procedure was some great inconvience for him. I am pretty sure I woke up from the procedure earlier than intended as I still remember him pulling the tube out of throat. I feel that he pulled it out very hard as it hurt immensely and I began vomiting as it was removed. To my recollection no attempt was made to help me clean myself...my grandfather did it after the nurses left me alone in recovery with him. The doctor never visited me after the procedure and the nurse would not say anything about what happened in the procedure. I also recall as they were wheeling me out of the room I was crying and repeatedly saying I'm… sorry and asking if I did something wrong. As I was coming back to my senses my grandfather asked me what that was all about but I didn't remember and the nurse wasn't telling us anything, after a while I was actually told to shut up and stop asking, which I also found incredibly rude. When I went to my follow up Dr. Heacock was even more rude than normal, he accused of waiting his time as he felt I did not follow the 12 hour fasting restriction for the procedure. Appearantly there was some food in my stomach from a previous meal. I repeatedly told him that I had followed the restriction to the letter and had not eaten anything for at least 14 hours prior to the procedure. He did not believe me and my insistence on the matter only made him even more furious. The discussion was going nowhere as he refused to listen to me, instead he informed me that I, a 17 year old kid, would be banned from returning to see him again and that he considered the matter closed. Several years have past since then and I still suffer from unexplained stomach and intestinal issues. I also believe that the reason no one would tell me what happened during the procedure was that Dr. Heacock got furious when he saw food in my stomach and chose to immediately and forcefully remove the camera from my throat, which is why I vomited and woke up so suddenly. I also think this helps explain why, in my drug addled state, I was crying I'm sorry and asking if I did something wrong over and over. I think that is why I was also told to shut up and stop asking questions in the recovery room that day. The only bright spot I recall was that the office staff were always very nice and extremely helpful. But I would avoid Dr. Heacock like the plauge...but he banned me from ever seeing him again so I guess I don't have to worry about that now do I?

Have gone to him for 30 years. I am not getting any better. He rarely listens to any of my concerns. Time for me to finally find s different GI.

Went in to get scoped. Wanted a follow up to discuss results and help with medications that were not working. Called 3 times and left messages that were not returned. Finally on 4th attempt got nurse on phone. Went to another specialist in area to get follow up and even found the diagnosis to be wrong. Avoid this guy. Just moving bodies thru taking your money and not interested in providing quality care.

After having a colonoscopy with Dr. Heacock back in 2012 I wanted to have a follow up appointment with him which he was unable to do with his schedule until 6 months out. After 6 months though, the day before the appointment it was cancelled and I was informed it would be another 6 months till he could fit me in again. Then a week before that appointment it was cancel because of scheduling conflicts he had. I was finally able to see him 14 months after my procedure. At the doctors office he start off by yelling at me because I did not see him every 6 months and that I didn't have blood work done every 3 months. I promptly told him I did not know that and he snapped back at me saying that its my responsibility to know ( which I agree) but I also told him he was the one that canceled all of the appointments and he also snapped back "I know, I know". After that he did lighten up and checked me over but did not give me an new treatment ideas and just to stay on existing… medicine. If you are looking for a new doctor I would NOT recommend him at all.

Dr. Robert Heacock is downright rude and has no consideration for his patients. Upon my initial visit, he was tardy and reeked of cigarettes. He seemed intrigued with my medical past which made me feel at ease. However, when I went in for my procedure (a throat scope), I had a few questions about what was going to happen. After 2 or 3 questions, he became agitated and shut me up by quickly (I could see he was using undo force to push the knock-out drug into the IV tube) administering the anesthesia, rendering me unconscious. He never consulted with me after the procedure, instead leaving it up to my wife to explain what was done and what was found. The people in his coumadin clinic WERE NOT available when I had time sensitive questions about returning to my regular blood thinner regimen.
