Dr. Robert Scott Helman, MD

Saw this man at Urgent Care in Great Neck NY (now a city md branch). I went after a week of experiencing a swollen tonsil. This happened a few days after a tick bite. Mr Helman misdiagnosed me with Tonsilitis and prescribed Amoxicillin. Over the next 6 weeks, I developed severe symptoms of Lyme disease including body aches, abdominal pains, terrible insomnia, severe constipation and chest pains. A Gastro dr performed an endoscopy and found bacterium. Since then I have incurred tens of thousands in dr visits, hospital stays, numerous tests like CT scans, MRIs, Brain SPECT, spinal tap, weeks of heart monitoring. Lyme, Bartonella and Anaplasmosis infections spread to my heart, brain and spinal fluid. I've suffered from chronic Lyme symptoms for years because Mr Helman doesn't know the difference from prescribing a tetracycline vs penicillin. I became VERY ill because this man was too busy to spend more than a few minutes examining or even reading my symptom chart. That's the… problem with Emergency Care centers: the dr only cares about keeping the next patient waiting. I now live with tremors, heart palpitations, muscle twitches and spasms, body aches, insomnia... All because he didn't prescribe 200mg of doxycycline for 1 to 3 months after just a week since infection. Don't go to these pretend Emergency centers. The doctors are terrible inexperienced. It could have a permanent impact on your health.
