Dr. Robert Joseph Heyka, MD

EXCELLENT! Dr. Robert J Heyka is an excellent doctor. In my books at levels one thru ten, ten being excellent, he is eleven!. I went to him so worried about the condition of my kidneys, are they at failure stage already, am I going to start my bucket list now. So helistened to my complaints, irrelevant and relevant. Then he ask me to return in a month to give him time to go over my lengtthy medical history, also my urine was tested half an hour before my appointment. A month after we met again and to my rejoice, he said your kidney is functioning need for more medicine. What we will do is observe them for 4 months, if still good, continue to 6 months and so on. What a sigh of relief, I am not at the end of the line. Dr. Heyka gave me such an authoritative conclusion. I will sleep tight tonight. A million thanks to Dr. Heyka .

Dr. Heyka was so kind to my mother and very patient with both of us. He took time to explain his approach diagnostically, and was very reassuring. He went out of his way to consult with other specialists about her condition and followed up in a way that showed genuine concern for her condition.

Visited for early stage chronic renal disease. This doctor listened to my concerns without interruption. Carefully reviewed the history and previous laboratory findings, and in a logical and easy to understand manner explained what each of the results meant. He also explained the diagnostic plan and probable actions to be taken depending on the results obtained from studies. While talking to me he stopped working on the computer, turned towards me and spoke directly to me. He paused so that I could ask questions. He did not trivialize any comments, questions or concerns that I expressed.

After being diagnosed with a rare disease, I sought out physicians that were competent and had experience dealing with and treating patients with similar disorders, Because of it's rarity, the physicians in my area did not. It took just one visit to Dr, Heyka's office for me to know this is where I needed to be. He is a very kind physician, but most importantly to me I finally felt comfortable and trusting in someone's care of this rare disease. He got me in to the office within a couple days, and made the time for me in his extremely busy schedule. I highly recommend him to anyone needing a nephrologist.
