Dr. Robert Sigmar Heymann, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Heymann for around 4 years before I moved. I had problems swallowing. My primary doctor wrote a referral to the Endocrinologist. My first appointment seem like it took for ever to end. First, my waiting time was less than 15 minutes. The nice nurse did her stuff. Looked over all my paper work. Than put me in a room. About 5 minutes, in comes this very friendly young man. Very up beat. Asked me how I was doing? Than asked me questions about my thyroid. He listened while I answered his questions, writing down some stuff. He told me he was going to do an US first to see what was going on. His nurse came in to assisted. Once that was finished, he told me he saw some growth on the thyroid. He told me the name of them. He explained he had to take a few biopsies of the growths. This is how is went: He cleaned my neck. He had 6 very long slender needles with one end having pitcher like item. The nurse told me I could hold her hand it I needed to. Well, I… had to do just that. Dr.Heymann was so gentle and talked to me through out the procedure. The nurse could see my tears coming down the side of my face. She also had tears in her eyes. Dr. Heymann was right on top of getting back with me after the test results came back. I saw him ever 6 months for the first 2 years. Than once a year after that. I was really sad to have to say goodbye to him. He works a Fontana Kaiser Hospital. If you are a member, I recommend him 150%.
