Avoid this Doctor, he doesn't care whatsoever

My Dad saw Dr Honig for years. He was very good at going to all Dr appointments, Medical, dental, ophthalmology, dermatology, if there was a concern he addressed it. Dr. Honig told him for years "you are getting older, your prostate will get bigger". He now lives here in Florida, the Oncologist we are now seeing said he NEVER felt a prostate that LARGE. He has had the cancer growing and slowly invading his body, while seeing Dr Honig for regular visits. A simple PSA blood test might have clued him in, but even with an enlarging prostate he did not order one. According to some reading I have done, a lPSA level of only 4 or higher can be indicative of some sort of prostate trouble. My Dad's was over 2,000!!! Granted it was probably 18 months since last seeing Dr. Honig, but I am sure if he did the right thing, the prudent thing as a physician, and ordered the blood test, it would have been elevated. If that had been done, treatment could have been started much sooner, with a better… prognosis. It was discovered because of pain in the abdomen and hips, a CT scan was done, and showed metastasis to the bones as well, prostate being the primary source. He is undergoing treatment, but due to the extensive metastasis and time this was ignored, the outlook is not that good. If you love your Dad, Husband, Brother, Son, or any male, do not let this happen to them.

Doctor Honig cares about his patients well being. He is very informed.

Does not accept any other diagnoses from specialists... neglectful of patients concerns. Rushes through appointments, without trying to determine the cause of ailment.
