Dr Robert Kauffman

Dr. Kauffman is A very caring and understanding doctor. He has helped me a great deal with my Lichen Planus. I have gone from having a great deal of pain to none. I would highly recommend him.

I have been in doctor Kauffman’s care for a short period of time, and I know I’ve been healed! I’ve had 20 years of persistent period pain. I was originally referred to him by my TTUHSC physician just to freeze my eggs, but he listened to me about my overall health and I think we’ve alleviated the pain and solved any potential future fertility issues because of his attentiveness and vast knowledge. Finally, throughout my 5-6 months with him we’ve likely improved my quality of life (currently in post surgery) and maintained my reproductive system by conducting a few procedures to heal my womb. After my lap surgery, I didn’t feel any pain (just gas in my chest and right side of abdomen), didn’t have any complications, and I began healing instantly. He’s careful, attentive, experienced, knowledgeable, trustworthy, supportive, personable, and very friendly. I would recommend him to anyone facing fertility issues or overall women’s reproductive health problems. It was a long waitlist, but… worth it. I enjoy the Follow my Health app and his staff is direct but helpful. NWTH was friendly, patient, and supportive while I had my surgery. I am extremely excited, hopeful, and grateful to him. Dr Kauffman has been my dr for nearly 2 years. He diagnosed me with Vulva erosive Lichen Planus. I was in great deal of pain far worse than having a child naturally. He and his nurse worked very thoroughly, patiently, with kindness and understanding. They always answered or returned my phone calls He is very professional I was never waiting in lobby very long. I have had several visits with Dr. Kauffman and he also performed my pelvic prolapse/labiaplasty surgery as well. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about him. He has always been very professional but so very kind, he puts all of my worries at ease and answers all of my many questions. During my stay in the hospital, him and his team checked on me way more than I expected and my surgery went better than i could have planned for it to! I want to than Dr. Kauffman, his nurse Debbie and all of his staff for being so compassionate yet professional and making patient care a priority. You truly are the best!

I've since learned that Dr. Kauffman is not a true "fertility specialist", but I swear you'd never know it. Considering Amarillo doesn't really have one, I feel confident in recommending him for those that don't want to travel to Lubbock or Dallas. After just one visit, he had a three point plan on diagnosing us and he was right on. He thoroughly tested my husband and while he was not able to treat the problem, his solution of using IUI worked for us. Also, he performed laparoscopy on me to determine if I had endometriosis and test my tubes and he was a great surgeon and I had no complications from the surgery (at BSA). Overall, he was great to work with and always took time to answer all our questions and made us feel very much in control of our situation. His nurse Vicki is great also. Love her. Even the two lab workers that do the sperm washing are terrific and caring people. The front office and business staff however? TERRIBLE. We were double billed numerous times and they… are very rude to deal with. I hate them and I hope I never have to go back to Dr. Kauffman just b/c of them. State run clinics just seem to lack caring office workers despite having good doctors. Such a shame.

Dr. Kauffman and his nurse, Vicki, make the tough journey of infertility much easier to navigate. One of the best!

Dr Kauffman has treated my insulin resistance and pcos for years. As a result of that dx my husband and I had a very hard time conceiving. After laproscopic surgery (ovarian drilling) we became pregnant in much shorter time than expected. AS a result we had a beautiful baby girl in 2006. I highly recommend anyone with gynecological problems to Dr Kauffman. He is very thorough and spends plenty of time with you to explain every detail of treatment and diagnosis.

Dr. Kauffman performed laproscopic surgery to treat my endometriosis, and I was wholly impressed by his skill as a surgeon. I hardly had any pain at all after the surgery. He took time to explain the results of the surgery to my mother (when I was still waking up from anesthesia). He works with a surgical center north of the Amarillo medical center that was a lovely facility -- like staying in a comfortable, quiet hotel. I'm sure your experience could vary, depending on the medical problems you bring to Dr. Kauffman, but I was completely impressed with his skill as a surgeon as well as his communication with me.
