Dr. Robert Travis Kenny, MD

Geez... Where do I begin with this guy? I walked into his dingy office on a rain day & stepped into a waiting room with a leaky ceiling, outdoor wicker furniture, a couple of dead cockroaches in the corners, cob webs here & there, loose plastic ceiling tiles (undoubtedly from the water pouring through them), & garage painted floors. No, I'm not joking. This really did happen to me and this joker thinks he's running a medical clinic.. The staff was friendly enough & seemed cozy despite their surroundings. I didn't wait long before being placed in a room. It was there, that I could hear a lunatic barking out demands at someone. I soon realized as the so called doctor entered that he was in fact the lunatic I had heard. He was old, rude, & obviously computer illiterate as he banged on the keyboard and screamed at the computer. It was at this point that the frantic nurse rushed in attempting to explain to this quack that when he hit the "backspace" button it deleted the field… in which he had just typed. I mean, come on..... He finally gave me a 3 second exam and I was elated to simply leave even though I had yet to receive adequate care. This guy is a real creep.

Really good staff. Great doctor. I've been going to this same office for years.

I have gone to Dr. Kenny for over 10 years now, and he is a great doctor. He is always teaching residents for Tulane Medical school, and is always up on new technologies and procedures in medicine. I have always liked that he has kept up on new things and has always shared and urged me to stay on top on my healthcare situations. He always urges me to keep up on my vaccinations and flu shots, and has been a very knowledgeable doctor. If he doesn't know something, he will let you know and find out the answer and get back to you promptly. I have been to other doctors, and have always felt they weren't as good as Dr. Kenny.

I've seen Dr. Kenny since 1995. His diagnoses have always been on point, he is never afraid to think outside of the box and I've always been impressed that he's so familiar with state of the art treatment for some pretty strange problems I've thrown at him over the years. Unlike some doctors, whom I feel care more about staying on insurance company's "most favorites" lists than patient health, I feel like Dr. Kenny treats *my* health as paramount. (To be sure there is no profit motive in referring me out to specialists or tests when warranted, but neither medical economics nor ego on Dr. Kenny's part has stood in the way of my receiving appropriate and timely care.) He personally calls me with my lab results, spends adequate time with me in the exam room and makes me feel like he actually *cares* about my physical well-being. Plus, his staff has always been kind. For the person who complained about his office furniture, note that his office was completely remodeled after… Katrina. If its still not to your liking, wait 2 weeks to get an appointment at Oschner only to wait two hours to see a rotating set of nurse practitioners. I truly fret the day when "corporate medicine" swallows up practices like Dr. Kenny's. If he's on your plan, you should definitely give him a try.

Dr. Kenny has been an expert diagnostician, always answers my phone calls, can always get an appointment the same day. Has take care of me since 1976. I have never known him take a vacation for two months. Honest upstanding and takes caution before prescribing any medication ensuring that he is not prescribing medication to druggies.

Bad doctor and bad citizen. Even calling for an appointment was impossible.What made me finally leave this review was his extremely belligerent community behavior. Time to retire to Florida, Doctor.

I HAVE BEEN GOING TO THIS DOCTOR FOR MANY YEARS. I BELIEVE HE IS ONE OF THE BEST IN THE AREA I WON'T SEE ANYONE ELSE

Horrible staff, Not accurate in diagnosing problems, when i called to get a follow up appointment when the problem still continued they said he would be out of the country for a few months. Called back in a few months, and they said it would be another few months.

The Office was SHABBY, my garage looks better, cheaply painted cement floors, warped plastic board on the walls, and yard sale find wicker furniture in the "waiting room". The office staff consisted of one GRUMPY old woman who didn't want to get off her duff to assist anyone, and when I FINALLY got to see the "Doctor" he had zero bedside manner, let alone any manners at all. He was extremely rude, and unfeeling. rushed through my exam, and scribbled out a prescription that upon a second opinion was deemed completely unnecessary. So in short if all your looking for is a pill doctor just interested in how much money he can make from your insurance company go right ahead and call him up, but if you have an honest medical condition, seek a REAL medical professional
