Dr. Robert Dorne Lerner, MD

Came in to remove J tube from stomach, Dr. Lerner said he never saw anything like it nefore. I originally had it placed in bham. Called bham and they had to tell him how to remove it. Tried to set up a follow appointment for a week and never called back. Had to go back to Bham to have the tube removed.

I been going to Dr. Lerner for over 15 yrs he ready care about his patients wellbeing and health .He is one of the only Doctors left who care about his patients he doesnt a great job . -Patricia Amerson

I’ve seen him for about 2 years. I personally have never felt so degraded as a human being.. he makes you feel like all of this stuff is in your head even though you have proof in black and white that your not!! The worst GI doctor I’ve ever had besides Barnett at Springhill. He also was a piece of work. They need to listen to us instead of judging us! To them it’s all about that Country Club life tho. They don’t care, especially Lerner.

I saw this doctor in 2011 and it was the worst doctor I have ever seen. I went to his office because I was having terrible pain in my colon. He talked down to me and had the worst beside manner. At the time I was 33 years old and was in good shape athletically speaking. After I told him my problems he said he wanted to do a rectal exam which I had been preparing mentally for all week because I have never had anything up that area. He then proceeded to roughly shove his finger up my butt in such an unprofessional way. Then he told me that I was fine and that the pain was all in my head!! I told him he was wrong and my pain was real. He said doing a colonoscopy would be a waste of time but if I just had to have something done that he would do a sigmoidoscopy which is a colonoscopy jr. so to speak. I should have told him to shove it but I was in so much pain that I had to have something done. He performed the exam the next week and in the follow up visit he said that I in fact… had Ulcerative Colitis!!!! He wrote me a prescription with zero refills and sent me out the door with no follow up. I am pretty sure he was embarrassed about being wrong and did not want to see me again . I recently have had a flare up with my UC and that got me thinking about this jerk. It is 2019 and this whole thing happened in 2011. Let that sink in for a moment and you will realize how bad this doctor is. Eight years later and I still remember all this. Not to mention that 5 months before all this began my wife and I lost our 2 month old son to SUDS. This guy is the worst and it blows my mind that he is still practicing medicine.

I READ THE REVIEWS AND I ADMIT IT PREPARED ME FOR MY FIRST VISIT. THE ONLY NEGATIVE COMMENT I HAVE WAS HE TALKS FAR TOO FAST. I STOPPED HIM AND MY EARS CANNOT KEEP UP WITH YOUR MOUTH,,PLZ SLOW DOWN! LOL HE DID. HE WAS KIND, THOROUGH AND PATIENT WITH ME. HIS TESTS WERE ALSO GOOD. I RETURN TODAY FOR A FOLLOW UP AND EXPECT TO SEE THE SAME KIND MAN. ALSO GOOD REVIEWS FOR HIS STAFF.

He talks and moves very fast. Not careing at all. Does not listen. I had egd and he never talked to me before nor after. I was told i coyld talk to him after, well he left before I was wike up. He's a danger. He does not care for gis patient's.

He is the worst doctor I have ever seen. I have a lot of health problems, and have seen tons of different doctors, and he is horrible. He is rude, no manners, doesn't listen, and always looked in my panties for no reason. He always treated me like I had no idea what I was talking about. I am surprised he is still practicing! I wouldn't recommend him for even a dog! Stay away unless you want to feel violated and stupid when you leave.

Talks over you, acts like what you're saying is hurting is impossible. Fast talker and confusing

This is one of the rudist dr.s I have ever had, he did my colonoscopy and didn't even wait until I was drugged, it hurt so bad I tried to get off the table . I don't recommend he even be a dr.!!!!

I have complained to Dr. Learner about the same problem for four years. Dr. Learner is very quick when you go in for a appointment, 15 to 20 minutes max, but the results are still the same. He is also a fast talker, so he is not listen to the patient problem. On a scale of 1 to 10, I recommend 4 for service.
