Dr. Robert Willem Lobel, MD

Dr Lobel performed pelvic floor surgery on me 6 months ago. I am still a mess. What should have been a simple surgery ended up being a mess!! 2 new surgeons later and they are still trying to fix what Dr Lobel did to me. My quality of life is horrible now.

I can’t select no stars but please be aware of this doctor. He performed surgery on me and cause irreversible nerve damage. I went in for a routine bladder tuck and he did a rectocele as well even though prior to surgery he had said it would be too risky and would not do. I had to go back to have it undone. He did not listen to my pleas of pain that ultimately led to a dangerous tissue infection. When I went to his office and could barely stand, he told me to go to the hospital immediately but then when my husband and I were leaving, he called out to come back in claiming there were no hospital beds available and proceeded to manually cut away dead, infected tissue. To this day I have no perineal body. These surgeries (I had to have subsequent ones where he was attempting to fix the painful scar tissue and lack of skin issues) spanned over a year and a half. Please, do your research on this doctor, the history and comments speak for themselves.

If I had a choice of no stars, that is what I would give him. I would NOT recommend him to anyone! I am now trying to have another professional correct the problems he caused me to have. A yearly checkup turned into a nightmare for me and he knew exactly what he was doing to me. He punctured a hole in me with something long and thin. I let out a loud, "OUCH!" That's all he said was for me to get dressed, he met me outside the examine room, and said that I was dismissed as a patient. He was angry that I did not want to have surgery and get one of his pacemakers installed. What he did was totally unethical in my opinion. He is also a spooky person with little patience if he disagrees with you. I wish someone had told me to stay away from him or I had read his reviews.

I have always had excellent care from Dr Lobel and his staff. They are always very accommodating when I need to be seen quickly. I highly recommend this office for urology/gynecology issues.

I think Dr. Lobel is one of the best doctors I have ever been to. This is saying a great deal as I am 60 years old and have seen many, many doctors. I have had UTIs for over TWO YEARS. I saw several doctors, about 4 OBGYN doctors, 3 urologists, and 2-3 urgent care centers and they all said no UTIs. I was in constant pain having UTIs about 2 times per week, along with really bad urge and stress incontinence. I had 2 procedures for urinary incontinence, one worked and the second one did not so now I continued with very painful constant UTIs and incontinence. I read up on Dr. Lobel and thought he seemed very knowledgeable. In the very first visit, he found a UTI....right there he smoked every doctor in the past 2 years, even gynecologists. Oh....I forgot to mention how unbelievably nice he is and what a comforting way he has about him. So, he put me on antibiotics and no more UTIs....that felt amazing...he did 2 office procedures on me and found 2 in-depth issues. I am feeling so… much better and I am so relieved. I will be back after this work is done. I think I am going to make him my OBG-YN and my urologist from now. He is a must see. Thanks so much to him. And the staff is INCREDIBLE TOO. They are all so happy there. Really. They're all like one big happy family and treat each other and the patients awesome...quite the crew!!.

I’ve had two surgeries by Dr Lobel and Kelly and I have had years of pain and nerve damage since. He was also extremely creepy in his office after hours when I had pain after one procedure. His PA told the nurse after my hysterectomy that I wasn’t in pain, I was just crazy, and to medicate me! These people shouldn’t be practicing. Do not go to them!!!!

When needing a new battery, Dr. Lobel insisted on changing the wire lead. Anytime the wire lead is taken out and replaced it takes time to get the programming correct in getting the wire lead to send the correct stimulation to the correct wire lead. I know he had another “resident/doctor” do the surgery without my acknowledgment. I woke up and another dr’s name was on my medical wristband. I was mad!!! I don’t like being a guinea pig for extra credit. That’s sneaky!!!

At our initial consult, upon hearing of my previous hernias and the situation at that time, Dr. Lobel said something to the effect that "intestines are always trying to find a way out." Yet at my surgery he left a "Grade 2" rectal prolapse because "it wasn't bad enough." As IF it would get better.... No, of COURSE it wouldn't get better. At my one-year visit, he wanted to schedule surgery to repair it. It's "only a couple of months" to recover." And it should be soon: "You don't want to be 80 years old and having the surgery." Find another surgeon.

Went for prolapse repair and did a hysterectomy. What a scumbag, I walked around for 3 days and was not told I had a hysterectomy!! I have my own OBGYN. I saw hysterectomy on hospital papetworn. My daughter or myself were never told after surgery. Violated and insurance steeler!! Not his first time doing this to people. STAY AWAY FROM HIM!!!!

At my initial visit, he told me 3 organs were trying to exit my body, acknowledging the affinity for one's innards to do that. In my 2-hours long very painful surgery, he took care of 2 of them. I swear he kept the third for another surgery the next year. Ain't happenin'.....
